OK gang,

The wife, after this last storm, wants to get a quad with a plow.

Looking at something like a Yamaha Grizzly 350, auto, 4×4, and p/s. Also looking to do the plow operated by winch. Primary purpose is for snow plowing and some recreation. We plan on taking it with us when we move to Alabama.

So if any of you have one and would like to chime in please do!

Thanks,

Steve

Nobody answering you Steve? Well, I don't have an answer for you because when I got recruited out of school (I was born and raised in Canada), I said I want to go to the land of NO SNOW! I haven't shoveled snow in 20 years and don't miss it :)

As far as your purchase, GO FOR IT! Everyone needs a Quad

LOL...

Went to look at quads today and my wife liked the Polaris RZR Trail 2 seater. We are also looking at John Deere's XUV 550. Well, they have 4 wheels...

The Yamaha Rhino might be worth looking at. Sounds like you want something that can handle the plowing & have some fun on. The Rhino can do both. It's got pretty good power. Not like a RAZR. But enough to have fun with. Plus it has the bed & 4 wheel drive & I'd be willing to bet you can put a plow on one. Check it out

Thanks Chris. We're actually looking at the Yamaha Wolverine too. Kinda narrowed it to Polaris, Yamaha, and John Deere.
The J.D.s come 56" wide and the others, depending, 50".

Hey Steve, I have an older Honda Rancher ES 350 4x4, with a manual pull lever winch on it for snow removal, which works just fine. Obviously it's not nearly as powerful as the newer machines out there now days, BUT believe me it's a great little powerhouse and gets the job at hand done. It's always done everything I've ever asked of it.

Almost 1500(STEEP)vertical feet from here...

The ones we are narrowed down to...

http://powersports.honda.com/2015/pioneer-700-4.aspx

Now, we started looking at quads but have decided that one of these is what we like. Granted the RZR is lacking a bed but that is what we are going back and forth on. In a couple of years when we move south, it will come with us as we are currently looking at property in Alabama.

UPDATE...
The wife and I bought a 2014 Polaris RZR Trail 570 in Indy Red. It's getting a winch and plow installed and the rest of the goodies I'll take care of.

This thing is a candidate for some DLUX.
