Enclave lower bumper staining

Hi. I recently purchased a '09 Buick Enclave. The lower (dark gray) portion of the front and rear bumpers have chemical staining on them. They are like colored plastic. I've tried to buff them but doesn't help. Can this be corrected or only replaced? Thanks for any input.

Any idea what it is, or what it could be? What did you use as far as pads and polishes on it? Without knowing what it is, it could be tuff to tackle. A few things you may try are;

1. Strong mix of APC/water (Let it dwell for several minutes, but do not let it dry on the surface, do not use on a hot surface, or in direct sunlight. Agitate and rinse it thoroughly)

2. Spotless (follow directions given on the site)

3. TarX (follow directions given on the site)

4. IronX (follow directions given on the site)

I have tried s3 with a microfiber pad. I think it is acid chrome cleaner that was sprayed on heavily and ran down the car.

Who sprayed it with chrome cleaner?

If the surface is etched from the cleaner your options are going to be limited.

If you have tried the options already provided then compounding or wet sanding are the only options left (NOT that I am recommending you do that. If that is a painted plastic bumper your showing there I would try Cool pad and Flat Top IF you have enough paint to work with.

Not painted. Colored plastic it seems like. Sounds like correction isn't going to happen then? Thanks let me know about any other ideas besides replacement.

Actually, I could be wrong the ones I see on eBay are said to be primered and are black.

You might try a quality compound with semi aggressive pad to see if removes the damage. But as Corey mentioned you might need to have a pro wet sand it.

So with a little patience, a flash pad and S3 I got it looking much better. In some spots I can see faint marks. But I'm confident I can remove them. It looks awesome. Thanks for all the help!
