I have decided to go with Cquartz this time on my wife's car. I have always used UK and after applying with the suede applicator it gets stiff. When I used original the suede is soft like it http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161217/7f3ae4d53634b407b4123d584c12e9c4.jpghas never been used. Is this normal? Perhaps I have a bad batch/old?

Looking at the label and that it was your first time opening it, you should be fine. You mentioned about the suede applicator cloth, how long after application did you note the softness?

Did you use a heavy amount and it hadn't hardened yet?

Is it possible maybe it is colder for you right now? If the suede cloth was super saturated or if it's fairly cold it may be adding to the time that the excess coating is curing up in the cloth.

Yes its very possible and most likely that why its not hardened till now,
give it more time and it will, the bottle you got is fine, its only temperature depended

In my experience this is normal. This trait has been consistent throughout multiple bottles of UK that I have used over several different production batches. The UK is formulated for application in colder temperatures. Unfortunately, I have only used the UK due to my location, so I cannot tell you whether it hardens the suede more than the standard CQuartz formula. Regardless, whether using the Standard or UK, it is my understanding that the application suede needs to be discarded after one vehicle application. Which seems wasteful, but necessary as the hardening of the suede ruins it for further use, even if washed immediately... I could be wrong about that though.

It's Been several days and the suede is still soft. The areas the coating was applied to looks nice and beads but just wondering how durable it will be knowing it's not hardening on the suede like UK has always done when I use it.

rbss- What you are noticing is 'normal'. Original C.Quartz applicators will feel 'softer' than UK spent suede due to the chemical and inorganic makeup of each formulation. Both are fantastic products that will serve you very well. You will most likely NOT notice a difference in performance or longevity between the two products. I choose one or the other based upon my ambient environment at time of application, unless my customer demands a certain product.
