Hi Guys

I'm going to have my car recoated with UK. It's been 2 years. Whats the best way to prep. It's going to have Paint Correction and polish done is that all that's needed?

I going to have the 3m clear paint film coated as well.

Thanks for any help.

Thanks.

Might want to consider using an iron remover such as ironx during your wash process. You will have to determine if the paint needs to be clayed. Proceed with your polishing steps to remove the previous coating and any defects. Then prep with Eraser and re-coat.

With the PPF you may just want to give it a good wipe with eraser and then re-caot. Some films don't like to be polished. Not sure if 3M is one of them.

Are you doing it or is someone else?

When I coat, I start from scratch. That includes using IRONX or TRIX and clay/clay alternative.
My wife’s car has 3M film and I coated it with no issues. My truck has XPEL and was coated with CQ Finest with no issue

If the film is currently on it, I know that there are articles out there by Rasky (Chad R). He has polished films before but I would research that for your own peace of mind. With my wife’s car, I gave it a super light polish. I would investigate that further before doing it to be sure..

My thought is if you are going to coat from scratch again then ensure the surface is squeaky clean and bare, ie nothing on it and properly corrected.

My wife’s cars coating was in three and half years before I noted it was time to redo it.

Hope this helps!
