Just did a Engine shampoo and worked out not bad. Degreased it and sprayed it with Megs hyper dressing. Some parts are ok some are not.

The cowl part that is exposed to the sun (bottom of windsheild and top of hood ) It is a bit dry and light gray looking compared to my engine bay now. Not sure, If the Megs hyper dressing is ideal for that part since its waterbased.

What do you suggest I coat it with? I was thinking of using Carpro perl or maybe 303. Rains alot here, so was not sure if they MEg hyper dressing will stay on .

If you are talking about the wiper cowl then (depending on its condition) I might suggest CQuartz Dlux Wheel & Trim Coating.

Most trim dressing products are made to be renewable and for ease of use.
IMHO the products you mentioned Perl, 303, Megs etc. are dressings.
As you mentioned..."Rains alot here"...dressings tend to wash away.
Dressings look good for a few days or until it rains and they washes off.

If you are looking for something that "lasts" then IMHO Dlux is ideal.

Dlux is a coating not a dressing.

Pros:
Dlux applies easily on textured plastic trim.
Dlux lasts a long time (up to a year IMHO)
Will slightly darken plastic trim

Cons:
Dlux applies different than a spray on/wipe off dressing.
Apply using the included applicators (and latex gloves).
Don't touch it or get it wet for at least 4 hours. It needs to cure.

Side Note: I like it on tires...but that's a completely different thread.
