View Full Version : Reload VS CQuartz UK
I have a car that I have completely gone through and polished and the whole kit and kabootle multi-day process etc etc about 5 months ago, I have since washed the car a couple times with Reset (it lives in a garage) and applied Reload a couple times over the months. I have noticed that the just CQuartz by itself is super easy to clean from the first couple times I washed it, but ever since I put reload on it the car just seems more difficult to clean and it is not as hydrophobic. So I want to just apply CQuartz and leave it, my question is, how do I go about removing Reload? Can I just use a strong APC and Eraser or do I need to polish the whole car again? The car has seen maybe 600 miles in the last 5 months. If I decide to just throw a couple layers of CQuartz on the car currently (an Eraser wipe down first), will I just be sacrificing the longevity of the coating?
Thanks,
J

Welcome to the forum.
If you polish everything then you will have to recoat. So keep that in mind.
You could try this method that I took from the Gliss product page
Q. My coating is a few months old and I want to apply Gliss but Reload has already been applied over the coating, can I still use Gliss?
A. No, as Reload will not allow the coating to bond to the paint but if you still want to apply Gliss than the process would be as follows:
Wash with CarPro Reset
Decontaminate with Iron X if necessary
Use CarPro Tar X (this will pull the oils out of Reload that will prevent Gliss from bonding. Use in shade, do not allow to dwell, and be careful around sensitive plastics)
a. Spray and wipe in Tar X into panel with microfiber and immediately neutralize the Tar X by either rewashing the panel or using a waterless wash such as CarPro Ech2o (Make sure to neutralize Tar X before moving onto next panel)
Give it one more good wash with CarPro Reset
Wipe down with CarPro Eraser
Gliss application *If applying over an old coating there is a possibility Gliss may haze up the next day and you can see the application marks. If this happens wiping down the vehicle with CarPro Ech2o or a damp microfiber will remove it.*
If you choose to apply Reload over Gliss than you must wait a minimum of 12 hrs to allow Gliss to cure.
Thank you for the response, it seems like Tar X is the missing link to all of this, good thing I own almost every CarPro product lol
Can the Tar X be applied to a wet vehicle i.e. after wash? Like wash and rinse car with Reload, wipe down each panel with Tar X then rinse off and move to next panel?

I use Tar-X before I wash on those areas of concern.
