Yesterday I participated in a very interesting thread on FB (with other detailers) dealing with Hi-Fi equipment and it was funny to see how many of us actually own Home Theaters or heavy car audio gears.

So "show of hands", how many of us detailers (novice or professional) are avid audiophiles? Feel free to share a pic of your setup. I will be the first to raise my hand!

My gear:

Screen Innovations TPF100GA 100" Home Theater screen
JVC DLAHD550 HD 3D Projector
Pioneer Elite SC-35 Receiver
Klipsch Reference RC-62II (Center)
Klipsch Reference RF-82II (Fronts)
Klipsch Reference Rs-42II (Surrounds)
Klipsch Reference SW-310 (Triple 10" subwoofer)
Home Theater Personal Computer (Networked HTPC, which I built/assembled myself:cool:)
Thermalake Chassis
Intel Core i7
16GB Ripjaws DDR3 SDRAM
4TB WD Green SATA HDD (for TV recordings, movies and music)
64GB SSD (for Win7)
LG Black Multi SATA Blu-ray player/burner
Ceton InfiniTV (Quad Tuner)
XBOX360 (Gears of War III limited ed.)
Sonos (for whole house in-ceiling audio)
Monster HTS 3500MKII
Back-UPS ES550

Home Theater Seats:
5x Motorized Sequel Leather Recliners by Premiere HTS

Home Theater Cabinet (because I did not have the room to recess them in the wall)
BDI Avion, triple wide ventilated cabinet.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics but that is all I have on hand
Note: The room was sound insulated, tight sheeted and I added the tray ceiling to dampened the echo and to have accent lighting (above and for future movie posters on the wall)

If money was no object, I would have a full McIntosh setup and most likely the B&W Nautilus Speakers :p:rolleyes:

Wow !!!

I have always wanted to build a full on high end system but I can't seem to ever pull the trigger on starting. I have even considered building my own speakers since I am a cabinet maker / designer by trade.

Back in the day I had a nice system in my car. Alpine: Head Unit, Amps, Speakers / JL Audio subs. I had everything installed and tuned for sound quality not just loud noise. But the nice thing was due to the quality and setup it was very loud when desired.

My absolute definite answer to your procrastination is JUST DO IT! I've invested quite a bit of money in mine but have not regretted it one bit.... although my wife tried to make me regret it! There is nothing like going into that little slice of paradise to unwind. I am a big movie buff, but also do my CarPro shopping on it (since it is a computer with internet access). I actually sent a picture to Corey last night. He got a good chuckle out of it!

So in conclusion:

I've always been into home theater and car audio. Most of my speakers are 15 years old. Literally. When they came out though, they were very upper end. I've updated my receiver, DVD player, and TV.
Here's my set up. Nothing special but sounds good.
TV-Vizio 55in 1080p LED 3D tv.
Panasonic 3D BR/DVD player.
Denon receiver. No idea on the model number but Denon makes some great equipment.
Klipsch KT-LCR front and center channels. 6.5in speaker x 2 and horn. THX certified
Klipsch bi-pole rear speakers (speakers on front and rear)5 1/4 speaker and horn. THX certified
Cerwin-Vega Powered 12. I have two but one's in storage.
Your basic old school 5.1 Surround.
