I foam reset. Seems to me it takes about 4oz to get a thick foam, 2-3 its quite thin, then I spoke to Avi@carpro who said just run strict reset in the foamer, but keep the valve fully close and just...

This is a user forum mate, so no one here will have tried SiC yet to give you accurate info. Best contact Carpro global with that particular question. Odds are it's fine to use essence as a base,...
Elixir is the one you want. Hydro2 I really think would be more worthwhile on an uncoated car.
I can understand your confusion on toppers. CarPro don't give a lot of guidance, and toppers are really misunderstood things. Firstly Cquartz UK 3.0 does not need a topper at all. Once it is cured...
As Guz has said you would be better to start over. Polish/compound the car and get rid of the scratches and swirls and then coat the car with a ceramic of your choice. Essence+ has some filling...
Oh man, I can't wait to get hold of blackout. I've been looking for a tyre coating for a while now :)
I'm not sure to be honest, but if IPA won't remove it I don't thing methanol will. What will absolutely remove cquartz uk is a high alkaline APC (Surfex HD at 10:1 if you have that where you are). ...
Ooooooh... interesting. I wonder if this replaces TiO2 in the line up and how it compares in hardness and longevity to cquartz 3.0.
Can't wait to see the next few releases :). Thanks Guz
Man I wish... CarPro UK was incredible and did the brand a huge amount of credit and was a joy to deal with Craig there. Slims on the other hand are just awful and are slowly killing the brand...
OMG... can I pre-order? :)
Don't care what it is, I'll likely buy it anyway! Sad thing is it'll be ages before it gets to the UK. The new main distributor here is just awful and keeps poor...
I live in a very wet part of the UK, and I am firmly against topping cquartz with an inferior product like reload. I've coated 6 cars now, and after 48 hours curing there is nothing to worry about...
Man. trying to chose a favourite carpro product is like telling which of your children in your favourite one...
My pick of the day though is TarX - perhaps a strange choice as a favourite, but its...
This method definitely has merit, just make sure the car is well (pressure) rinsed down first of course. CarPro advertises reset as around 500:1 IIRC (so 2ml reset to 998ml water in a 1 litre...
Eraser is a wipe down to insure any oils, or contaminants are removed just before coating the car. Do this just before applying the coating. Think of it as a final preparation wipe, not part of the...
Thanks for your input.
All I know for sure is this: I'd been using Surfex at 10:1 on wheels and tyres, and auto-foam pre-wash at 4% PIR both around PH 12 (as you said) at least once a week. ...

You're right of course, it's not all down to PH, but if it is off the scale alkaline or acidic its definitely not coating friendly.
Thanks for the recommendations. I've bought PH test strips and have found the most wheel cleaners are extremely alkaline and this probably not OK for coating longevity and best avoided. I think the...
I've decided that I don't want to use toppers anymore on my car since re-coating my vehicle as I feel cquartz uk is a good stand alone topping, plenty hydrophobic and self cleaning, and seems to...
Thanks guys. Ive been using such harsh cleaners that my hubs have rusted after just 8 months ownership for a brand new car. My rotors are forever orange as well. Lesson learned, and will go to...
I've worn down, and in places completely removed my 8 month old coating, and I'm fairly sure it is from using a highly alkaline Bilt Hamber Auto-Foam, which has fantastic cleaning power, but it I...
I've been cleaning my cquartz coated wheels (and tyres) with high alkaline (Bilt Hamber Surfex HD) at 10:1 dilution which is still around PH 14, and it has completely killed the coating. Clearly I'm...
Hydro2 comes right off with a high PH (14) APC. I managed strip off reload and hydro2 with Bilt Hamber Surfex HD. It and high alkaline auto-foam have also substantially worn down my cquarz UK base,...
