I belong to a Jeep Cherokee forum and I was actually promoting the Cquatz UK but I was pretty much blown off, I would actually like to post more info in the thread but I'm not sure what all to say. Here are a few comments from the users .


Sorry, it's an interesting product, but this sounds a lot like the snake oil I made the mistake of buying at the gas station. That was "Nascar approved" fw1 waterless wash, polish or whatever. Basically just some clear oil that made the car greasy and dusty. Only a few obscure sites reviewing it...idk. Not saying it's that, but just another pricy product that may look better at first but doesn't live up to the promises long term.

I learned how to properly claybar, polish, & wax from a guy who detailed cars for decades, gimmicks come and go, I'll keep using carnauba wax myself....

Okay. Let's talk chemistry and reality.

Dust, road grit, micro particles of metal on road beds. All are abrasive. Any coating applied is microns thick. Any abrasive will remove them in time.

Waterless wash - used properly, it can work. You have to use a lot so that it emulsifies and lifts the dirt for transfer to a wiping cloth. If you don't frequently turn or change that cloth, you're using micro abrasives on your finish.

So, I simply do not buy the "lifetime" protection. If all of these are as good as you claim, I want to see a photographs.

Here's how the photograph will be taken: 1) Bright light (sun or spotlight) with photo taken at a close-up angle to finish. Show me there are no scratches in the clearcoat.

2) Bright light. Spot on. Show me the super wet look gloss.

THEN, I'll believe. Otherwise. No way.

Some folks do not understand the differences between a wax, sealant and a coating.

My short version is...
Think of wax and sealants as chocolate candy bars and hold them in your hand.
What happens?..."they melt". I think of a coating as M&M's. A hard candy shell.

Detailing technology has change A LOT is the last few years...
This includes decontamination from Iron-X to "clay alternative" towels and products.
Machine technology...Rupes 21 (wide throw), microfiber discs, flash pads, foam pads etc.
Compound/Polish Technology...Just a few years ago the gold standard was Megs M105/205.

Along with that...coatings are a fairly recent introduction in the detailing LSP world.
Even for me it was difficult to give up the Mr. Miyagi WOWO mentality and apply a coating.
I liked waxing my pride & joy. I miss the time we spent together caressing every curve of paint.
I digress...

Some folks are still stuck with a tin of Simoniz hand compounding their grandfathers Oldsmobile.
There are TONS of folks that swear by "Lemon Pledge". They spray it all over their vehicle for car shows.
I've tried talking to some of these folks...there's just no getting through...I throw in the towel and walk away.

Im a marketing specialist and have some certifications in publicity. Let me give you my input and take on this matter, at least, based on the detailing industry in my country.

* Getting potential customer to know your product is FUNDAMENTAL.

* Most tangible products and services involve an emotional purchase. Inform your customers what advantage will give your brand/product/service over the competition. Price, ease of use, longevity comes to mind with coatings/sealants!

* When targeting new potential customers, focus your marketing estrategy and publicity efforts in some sort of visual information: a video showing hot to apply a coating is the best example; fun to watch and really solves doubts most labeled instructions cant.

* Making a loyal customer to migrate to you brand/product/service is the hard part. Keeping him/her for a long time with you its the hardest!

* Every kind of POP (point of purchase) material is a great, invaluable aid to give your brand/product service an agggregate value, wich sets you apart from your competition; pens, samples, a decal, you name it!

Just a few that comes to mind.

Customers are so used to waxes because they have been here forever.

Aww, that is sad to see some people are still closed minded and not willing to accept advance in technology. I used to wax before too and then the sealant came. I'm like wow! And then the next thing is paint coating, and I'm like holy macro... WOWWWWW! Guess what, the next technology will be laser treatment paint. If you don't know what I'm referring to, google it and be prepared to have your mind blown away

I have also been promoting Cquartz UK and paint coating on ClubLexus forum. Paint coating is very, very well accepted on Lexus community. In fact, more and more people started to apply paint coating on their Lexus now.

Self restore coating is officially now CURRENT technology, not new anymore.
Lexus RC350 or RCF from factory already incorporates this technology.
