Clay Bar Needed ? Left car outside

Hey all , I'm a huge fan of the cquartz UK ! I recently left my car outside for about a week and I just gave it a nice back with Reset . I notice the paint still feels really gritty as if it was never clay bared , From what I know with this product I think if I remember correctly the features were ( No wax of clay bar needed for 2 years ) If this is the case why is the paint feeling gritty after the reset wash ?

Should I go ahead and use the clar cay to make it feel nice and smooth again ? or is there another step I should take ?

Certain types of contaminants can still bond to the coating, but I wouldn't advise using clay if you can avoid it (you could mar the coating). Your first best bet would be to soak the car in TarX/IronX (or TRiX) and re-wash with Reset.

The key is to get contaminants to release without abrasion whenever possible -- something that having the coating as a base will make much easier to do.

Perfect! That's exactly what I would do. Iron X is usually the answer along with regular washes of Reset.

Reset regularly

Iron X every 1-12 months (generally every 3-6 fits) depending on environmental variables

There are SOME situations where that won't solve it, such as paint overspray which can stick if left long enough and won't be removed by IX.

First step is diagnosis on what's causing it to feel rough.

If that's not possible we move to the step your on now.

Good deal , I only live 2 hours south of you so you know the weather here in Florida . I took my car to the dealer to have work done and they left it sitting outside for a week .

I wonder what it is!? I would never want my Sky out at night either but have plenty of cars that live outside permanently, that are coated and most certainly it shouldn't be rough after just a week outside.

Any idea what's near there? Welding shop, painter, train track, sappy trees over the parking?

We are in pollen season so my first thought was pollen. We do have some trees in the South that have majorly sticky pollen. I could show you an example on the windows of my truck but it is too dirty at the moment. As explained above, a good IronX/TarX + Reset usually fixes those issues for me. If a more aggressive approach is needed I would say to use a DILUTION of APC to clean the surface but be warned, leaving the APC on the paint may create damage (since it is a highly alkaline product (pH ~12)

Not too sure what it is , mostly dust from what I can gather , I also don't know where it was parked , they bring the car around to me once it's done.

That is kind of weird. My cars are parked outside on the street 24/7 for many years. The paint feels smooth every time after Reset wash. I do decontamination 1-2 times per year with Iron X and fine clay bar. I think what you experience is temporary dust.

If you have paint coating such as CQUK, it should release contamination easily.

Yes that is weird , but I also have a G37 that has cquartz UK on it , and it's garage kept. I washed it with reset and it feels just as grainy as my Jeep Cherokee. Maybe it's something to do with Florida ? I really don't have a clue. I do notice it more on the hood , obviously because it's flat ..
