This customer had originally contacted me via the Car Pro forum and was interested in having his brand new 911 coated with CQF. It was in magnificent shape so it just needed a one step polish (there were some light swirls and light scratches). I was not able to remove the wheels due to them being the centre lock type so only the outside got done and sadly not the yellow calipers either.
Anyway, here it is as it arrived:
First up was to clean the wheels.
The wells were cleaned with LATA.
The tires were cleaned with Zep 505.
The Wheel face was cleaned with Megs Hyper Wash and a wash mitt.
The barrels were cleaned with my small Daytona brush and Megs HW and some Zep Citrus.
The car was then washed with Megs HW. That was followed by a 2nd wash with IronX paste. It was subsequently clayed with a Speedy Prep towel.
The winning combo for the paint ended up being Car Pro Reflect with a white B/S pad. On some of the minor defects, a second pass was needed to totally remove them. That was followed by DG Squeaky Clean chemical paint cleaner + blue B/S pad. Flex 3401 used for both stages.
The wheel faces were double coated with CQF as was the paint, head and tail lights. The rear spoiler was raised so underneath of it could be coated as well. The customer had already coated the glass himself. Some of the trim he had applied PERL to, so the remaining trim was done with DLux. The paint was baked with my IR light:
Check out the first pic of the reflection of the very cloudy sky. I was hoping for a bright sunny day to photograph it in, but no such luck! Oh, well, here it is regardless:
Thanks for looking! Comments always appreciated.
