Let us honor the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military.

The purpose of Memorial Day is to memorialize the veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
We spend time remembering those who lost their lives and could not come home, reflecting on their service and
why we have the luxury and freedom that we enjoy today.

Mere words cannot capture the enormity of their sacrifice or the anguish of loved ones they left behind. On this Memorial Day weekend remember and pray for our troops who are now in harm’s way. And pray for their families and loved ones as they endure the hardship and uncertainty of deployment.

Poem by Father Dennis Edward O’Brien, Sergeant, USMC:

It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag
.” — Father Dennis Edward O’Brien, Sergeant, USMC

Thank you all (past and present) who serve and protect this great nation, thank you for the incredible sacrifice you make daily! God bless, and protect you and your families!!!
Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it. — Mark Twain
