    High Spots? Cquartz UK

    Hi all.
Well I did my first application of Cquartz UK and I believe it all went off or should I say on with out at hitch (Black Lexus). My concern is the topic of high sports. For the life of me I don't think I came across any, I'm not sure if I'm just that lucky or didn't know what to look for exactly.( Still bothers me I did not find any) I was hoping to get some clarification on high spots. They only issue I had in the whole process was the application of the Reload. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Im doing my personal car today (United Gray GTI)

    Thanks
    Chris

You should be able to notice any highspot easily. Lots of good light sources and darker paints help too!

What problems did you have with Reload? It should only be used if the car may encounter some rain (as a barrier) or to enhance the surface smoothness.

Congrats on your first CQ UK install Chris, sounds like you did a great job! Certainly don't be bothered because you can't find any high spots, as that's how it's supposed to be done! If you follow the directions and pay attention to what you are doing, applying CQ coatings really are very easy. Believe me; if you had any high spots on that dark paint and you inspected it with good ambient lighting you would know. BTW, vehicle looks very nice, GREAT job!

As far as Reload goes, there are many application/removal methods (this is how I apply and remove on dark paints):

    - Shake well
    - Do not apply in direct sun or on a hot panel
    - Apply in good ambient lighting (but not direct sun)
    - Spray 4-5 sprays directly onto a MF towel(I use BOA's for this), spread out left and right and then up and down over a 2sq ft. area
    - Working the product into the paint evenly until almost flashed away
    - Flip Towel and buff in further
    - Switch to a fresh clean towel (I use BOA's or Crazy Piles for this), buff the area once more to be sure no residue remains. Using the fresh clean towel, I also buff a little further beyond the application area to ensure I remove any residue or overspray that may have migrated over
    - Check after each panel before moving to next

If you do happen to get any uneven areas during application; wipe off Reload with Eraser or IPA immediately and re-apply.
    Tad
