    CQUK vs DLUX

    Buying a new car, would like to treat the exterior paint, plastic, chrome, alloys, and tires. I see that there is some crossover between CQUK and DLUX for plastic and alloy. What is best to use on alloy wheels? Can DLUX be used on the tires? I see the DLUX is cheaper and maybe some would want to use that for non paint but I want the best protection possible on everything. What is the best route to go?

    DLux works awesome on plastics. I have used both dLux & CQUK on wheels and both held up great. I would CQUK or CQ Classic the paint surfaces and dLux the plastic stuff. I also used dLux on my exhaust tips.

    You could use either one on wheels. DLUX has a higher temperature resistance than CQUK. I have DLUX on a set of wheels and it has been holding up great for 6 months. I have not used it on trim yet other than a black license plate frame that had faded. But I will be giving it a try soon on some plastic trim. I to have applied it to the exhaust tips of a borla exhaust on my uncles 2002 Corvette.

    The key is less is more with DLUX and to apply thin. Also pay attention to the temperature in your area to help you determine wipe off time to remove any excess product.

    Another option for wheels is hydr02. Would also make a great maintenance product for coated wheels.

    It is not recommended for rubber tires. I would think that it is due to the antiozonant's within the tire. Perl is available to use on tires.

    This is what I would do

    Paint - CQUK

    Trim & Wheels - DLUX

    Tires - Perl

    That's exactly what I was trying to find out, thank you for clarifying! Surprisingly hard to find that info through the website. I haven't loved applying PERL in the past, but I will give it another go. Do you know if you can layer DLUX as well? I want to take off the wheels to treat the wheel wells as well as the inside of the wheels. I would much rather do several thing coats while I'm at it.

    There really is no need to layer it! But if you do, be certain to wait a minimum of 24 hours before applying a 2nd thin coat. However I don't recommend a 2nd layer.

    I agree. One coat of DLUX is all that is needed. That is all I used.

    It did feel a little granny for me on wheels but after sitting overnight it felt slick.

    Bingo. One coat of DLUX on my trucks trim in August of 2015 and the pieces still bead like crazy and look new.

    I love PERL for interiors, but have tried several different ratio mixes for tires and exterior trim and it never seemed to last very long. I use a different product on the tires.
