I have a brand new black car. Paint doesn't need any corrrection. I'm not interested in a ceramic coating as the car is a sun day fun day car. It will never seee rain. Black might need correction at some point so I don't want to have to remove the ceramic coating to do paint correction.
I was thinking wash, clay, Essence Plus & Reload or just Reload alone. Any input on that or maybe something else entirely? What say ye?

Essence Plus and Reload will work just fine.
Just be aware that claying may induce marring which is typically removed with a finishing polish.
If it were me I would invest in coating the new car and having maximum protection on the paint. It's not that hard to polish and remove either cquartz coating. Or even essence plus later on to repair the coating. Proper wahing techniques is key with most protection products (wax, sealant or coating).

DECON:
Even on a "brand new black car" you probably have paint contamination from "environmental fallout".
This can be easily checked by washing/cleaning a small section of the hood and doing a "Baggie Test".
If you feel little bumps (grit) embedded in the paint with your hand in a baggie you should do decon.
If you choose to do clay I would suggest OBSSSSD Ultra Fine Clay with CarPro ImmoLube diluted 5:1
For paint decon there is chemical & mechanical removal. Clay is mechanical contaminants removal.
For chemical decon I'd suggest Carpro Iron X products...Iron X Spray and CarPro Iron X Snow Soap
WASHING:
In short whenever the paint is "touched" it creates fine scratches. The "trick" is to be soft.
The Two Bucket Wash Method is the basic place to start when washing automotive paint.
Things needed...CarPro Merino Wool Wash Mitt, 2 Grit Guards and a Dry Me Crazy towel.
Additional items...a completely separate bucket, grit guard and wash mitt for the wheels.
LAST STEP PRODUCT:
What LSP to use on a black car? "Essence Plus & Reload or just Reload alone..."
I'm a big fan of a quality ceramic coating for protection, longevity and durability.
A new car that just needs minimal TLC is a perfect coating candidate to keep it nice.
Essence Plus & Reload or just Reload are good choices. They are quick, fast & easy.
On the other hand, If it's a garage queen, then I might suggest a quality paste wax.
IMHO the "look" of a quality paste wax on "black" has wonderful warmth and depth.
It comes down to "looks" vs. durability/longevity. Whis is most important to you?

First...
I would agree with Merlin about the wax verses a sealant, at this point. From your description, this sounds like a sweet car that will be pampered.
I would also agree that since this sounds like your pride and joy, I would go ahead and give it the Best right now...proper decon, correcting, and a coating... if that fits into your budget.

As we all know, black is the hardest of all colors to maintain. And at current day, most black paint finishes are commonly clear coated, a 2-stage paint, but still seems to make little difference that black will show everything.
And because this color will usually be the most sensitive of all colors in that one only just needs to look at it sideways, and you'll induce swirling and marring to the paint! LOL (not actually that far fetched!)
Totally doubtful IMO, that you'll ever find a conventional wax, sealant, or hybrid product that will offer the degree and level of swirl and mar resistance that one of the CQuartz Coating products will provide. Plus the protection against all the other common contaminants known to harm paint.
And that's just one of the benefits. Others will be ease of cleaning, maintaining that vehicle.
Being that you say this will be a sunny day garage queen vehicle, you might be able to squeeze 3-5 years or more from the coating. A show car, maybe even a lot longer. And then only have to maintain with a product such as Reload or Essence Plus.
Other obvious benefits because of the rock hard ultra durable paint protection, and its longevity, is much less work to maintain that vehicle as time passes, and means much less money spent in the long run.
Don't let the Carpro product's initial costs scare you. By far IMO they offer the best bang for your dollar spent, are actually dirt cheap, not to mention your detailing shelves will be cleared of many lesser products for this particular vehicle.
Trim and Wheels, again a no brainer, CQuartz DLX for the win!

Essence Plus
CQuartz
You want regular essence and not essence plus to apply cquartz over it.
It is not recommended to apply any coatings over essence plus.

If so, what brand/make/model?
I'm not new to detailing. Ive been detailing for 30 years. New to Carpro products. I have a Metabo high speed polisher and a Porter Cable DA. Using Lake Country pads.
