1st timer help.

I am planning on using Cquartz UK.
This will be my 1st time ever using a ceramic coating, so I have a few questions.

I have a 2016 Ram 3500 which is now 2 years old.

The day I brought it home, I clay barred it, then used Griots one step sealant followed by Griots best of show wax.
I have done this every three months since new.

I wash and dry the truck every weekend.

This summer I decided to use the F11 top coat ( I believe a silicon product ).

But now I want to do a ceramic.

I am not going to do any polishing, since the clear coat is near perfect and swirl free.

My question is will Eraser remove the F11 / wax / sealer ?

Should I do a isopropyl alcohol solution and then the eraser ?

Or is the eraser enough by itself ?

I don’t know the chemical make up of top coat but I would recommend a light polish. IPA or Eraser may not be strong enough to remove everything from the paint.

A light polish won’t hurt but it will prep the surface for the coating. Essence may be all you need with a polishing pad.

To remove TopCoat® F11™, you can use aliphatic or aromatic solvents (i.e., glycol ethers, benzene, toluene, hexane) or even a high concentrate Isopropyl Alcohol will break it down based on how much TopCoat® has been applied.

Maybe some else can chime in but I still stand by a light polish to clean the paint.

Since you reached out to me via Pm and I see that you also posted here...
Contact the manufacturer of that product you currently have and explain to them what you are looking to do. I have heard of that product but never used it. They should be able to tell you what would be needed to remove it.
Honestly, if you are going to do a coating and removing your current product, imo, you should do the entire process...
Wash
Decon with Iron X then follow up with a clay bar
Rewash
Correct/polish paint as needed
Eraser
Coating.
In the process of removing F11, you may introduce some marring of the surface, especially if your paint is soft.
Just remember that once you put the coating down, any imperfections left behind will be captured until the coating is removed or, over time, disappates.
Just my opinion...

I'd try Essence as well or some Four-Star Ultima PreWax Cleanser.
