Hi Everyone,

I am planning on purchasing a new car in the next few weeks here, and I was hoping to get some advice on how to start out right with it as far as keeping it clean and protected.

I’m not so concerned about polishing/correcting right now since I don’t have or know how to use a DA polisher, but I’m definitely up to try that in the future.

For now, I was thinking:
- Wash with ONR (which I’m already comfortable with)
- Decontaminate paint with Iron X and /or clay bar

(This is where it gets murky for me)
- Possibly apply Essence or Essence+ by hand. Not a true polishing step since by hand, but might help mask any imperfections for now
- Prep paint with Eraser (after or before Essence/Plus depending on which)
- Apply Reload with a microfiber applicator to protect

In the above, do you think it’s worth the step of applying Essence or Essence + by hand? I know they both mention that they can be hand applied, and Plus specifically mentions being able to remove marring from clay bars, so would it be worth it just to see?

There is definitely a lot to think about, but CarPro has a really good reputation, so I feel like I can’t go wrong either way.

Thank you for any advice you can offer!
