    Essence panel-a-day

    hello community,

due to limited time, having no garage and working outside i will be polishing with Essence panel-by-panel on a daily basis, say: hood on day 1, left wing and front door on day 2, and so on.

now, whats the best approach here?
so i plan on washing the panel, decontaminate, clay, dry and polish with Essence.

should i coat this panel? or, work this way the entire car and afterwards a final wash, maybe IPA wipedown and coating?

thanks for the advice, and stay safe!

I would complete all the polishing then do the coating at one time.

In theory - It is not necessary to do an IPA wipedown when using Essence.

In Practice - Yes, I use Eraser with a CarPro 2 Face (No Lint) 16" x 16" towel

I clean the entire paint surface right before applying the coating.
I only use this 2 Face towel for Eraser and do not cross-contaminate.

so yesterday i polished the bonnet with Essence, it had time to cure ~24h till today's light rain.

i was expecting a bit tighter beading giving it has sio2. what are your thoughts?

Essence is not hydrophobic. It is more hydrophilic. This looks normal for Essence.

I personally do not think of Essence as a Last Step Product (LSP).
I use it to prepare the paint for an LSP (coating etc.).
I know it can be an LSP (some) but I don't think of it that way.

Essence Plus IMHO is a filler/top coat polish for a coating that has been incorrectly washed/maintained.

IMHO It is not an LSP but can be used as a glossy filler to "fill" wash marks on coated paint.
It would not be my first choice for an LSP, but for filling/repairing a coated car it works great!
