CQuartz Coated Car Marred with Clay Bar

I recently ceramic coated my vehicle (2021 Macan) about 2 months ago, and last week I had a bird dropping on my hood. After gently washing the area I noticed a mark was left behind, so like a novice I busted out the clay bar and marred/put a few swirls in the area. What is the best way to remove the stain and clay bar damage?? Assuming a light polish and re-coat or recharge the area. Appreciate the help!!

This is why it is not recommended to clay a coated vehicle. It will marr. The only way to fix that is either polish it off and re-coat or use a Essence Plus which has minor filling capabilities.

    ^ Agreed

There are many grades of clay bar - coarse, medium, fine, ultra-fine, etc.
Each grade contains abrasives that it uses to remove surface contaminants.
These abrasives call/will damage a coating and cause marring on the surface.

Do you still have the bird-dropping stain?

    Repairing the coating...

Choice A: IMHO The BEST way is to lightly polish off the marred coating area and recoat.

Choice B: Essence Plus may "fill" the marred coating and maintain your existing coating.
