When you are dialing in your compound/polish combination, on average, how many test spots will you do before you feel you have the right combo? I am guessing you used 101 on one spot, 110 on another, a mix of 101 and 110 on a third and maybe a few more before deciding on the compound(s) you want to use. Once the car is compounded, do you go through a similar process for polishes? I.e., you 205 on one spot, 210 on another, etc..

    1)
Every car/paint is different. Sometimes two or more test spots.

    2)
I always start with the least aggressive method first! (machine/pad/compound/polish)
M101 has more cut than M110. Sometimes I use Rupes Blue or Yellow compound.
The pad also makes a big difference. It is the process of finding the right combo.
Did I mention...Every car/paint is different! I use the least aggressive method.

    Pads:
    CARPRO Microfiber Cutting Pad
RUPES DA Blue Coarse Cutting Foam Pad
Lake Country HDO Blue Cutting Pad
Lake Country HDO Orange Polishing Pad
RUPES DA Yellow Fine Finishing Foam Pad
    and a few more...

    Compounds:
Meguiars 101 Professional Foam Cut Compound
Meguiars M110 Ultra Pro Speed Compound
RUPES Blue DA Coarse Cutting Compound
RUPES Yellow DA Fine Polishing Compound
    and a few more...

    3)
    Yes.
Sadly, I have not used M205 much recently.

    Polish:
Meguiars M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish
RUPES UNO Pure Universal Ultrafine Finishing Polish
CARPRO Reflect High Gloss Finishing Polish
    CARPRO Essence EXTREME Gloss Primer
    and a few more...

    Pads:
    CARPRO Gloss Pad
Lake Country HDO Black Finishing Pad
RUPES DA White Ultra Fine Finishing Foam Pad
    and a few more...

I'm always safely shooting for that swirl free, mirror finish.

Thank you for the reply, also thank you for the information about how Megs M110 and 101 compare.
