First return from Mike at Bar Tuning. This car actually belongs to Mike's parents who are retired but do a lot of restoration work. They were considering selling this one and wanted to show at a small local event in Houston. Paint was very rough and had a lot of scratches but at this point they didn't want to do a full correction so we agreed on a single stage to get color restoration and remove some of the defects.
Started with standard foam wash with Chem guys honey do, followed up with surface cleanse using ultima WW and Carpro Decon towel. Polishing combo was Rupes with orange ccs pads and HD Speed which yielded a nice result, but by no means did we remove all defects on this car. Goal was good shine and reduction of visible scratches here.
m
End result was good but doing a single stage always leaves me wanting more. Always have to remind myself that full correction isn't for everyone.
Couldn't help but toss in a quick engine clean up as well as a light interior clean and spot stain removal.
And for the final touch we shot this little beauty with Carpro Hydrofoam for some added gloss and hydrophobic effect.
They were very pleased with the car and said they had a great offer to buy but given the increasing market for clean air cooled 911's decided to hold on a little longer. I guess maybe we may get to do the full correction down the road and return this paint to what it really should be.
Enjoy!
