1st wash after CQuartz Finest application

I recently got my new car detailed, and had CQuartz Finest applied to it. I will wash the car for the first time 7-10 days after the install (dual bucket, MF wash mitt etc.). I am wondering if it is safe to apply products such as HydrO2 & Reload to the paint after this wash? Also, if I wanted to wax the car, could I do it after this initial wash? I am looking for some insight from people who have experience with these products, and want to do the right thing with a new car.

Thank you,

Mike

Hi Mike and welcome to the club!

1. Just my opinion but I would wait 30 days before applying Hydro or Reload to the CQuartz Finest. The is a window for CQF to fully cure. Reload can be used an hour after CQF application if your car may be exposed to water, rain.

2. Waxing...no need to wax it if you are going to use Reload or Hydro. Any of the two products will be far better than wax.

My truck is CQF coated and I wash it with Reset. http://www.carpro-us.com/auto-wash/carpro-reset-1-liter-32oz/

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your insight. Another question, if you don't mind... Today someone dinged my car in a parking lot and there is a minor scratch that was left behind (it's very faint, not visible from 5ft away). After a wash, would a product like Reload help to hide that scratch, or any imperfections for that matter (does it act like a wax)?

Thank you,

Mike

Hey Mike,

I would not think so. I would suggest stopping back by your installer and let them take a look at it. The RELOAD will add a layer of protection but not hide scratches. That stinks about the ding. RELOAD is a sealant.
Some info on Reload...http://www.carpro-us.com/coatings-sealants-spray-wax/carpro-reload-500ml-new-formula/

Seeing you're from Toronto, you wouldn't happen to be friends with any of the guys from Rush would ya?

Ok Steve sounds good, thanks again for the info. I know, it's a bummer! Picked up a scratch after only a few days... it's ok, overall the car looks beautiful and I'm really happy with it.

Cheers
