This one was special, in more ways than one. Owner is a junior high friend of my wife who owns a maintenance and performance tuning shop in Houston called Bar Tuning. I had stopped by to talk and introduce him to services that I provide and he mentioned his wife's car that he wanted to detail for her birthday. We decided that correction was much needed and he also wanted to lock in the work with the best possible protection...CQUARTZ. We had a perfect timing schedule as they were about to leave on vacation, giving me lots of time to work through all the correction.
As you can see there wasn't a panel on this car that wasn't beat up with wash marks and random deeper scratches along with lots of front end rock chips.
Took her through the usual prep series of wash with Chem guys foam, Decon wheels and paint with iron X, surface cleanse with ultima WW and Carpro Decon towel. And then the fun began.... After several pad, polish and polisher tests I decided this one need a little rotary love, combined with a heavy cut pad and HD Speed. This combo did a great job of knocking down the first level of deeper scratches. Of course we had to follow this up with Rupes and orange CCS pads again with speed. There were a handful of deeper scratches that had to be sanded with 1500 then 3000 to correct. Also took the time to touch up every noticeable rock chip and both door edges to remedy any spots where undercoating was visible. Lots of work in tight areas that the big DA machines just couldn't touch. This paint just repainted very well to rotary polishing at moderate speed so the flex mini got a big workout near every edge and tight spot. Rear bumper was probably the worst with "luggage marks" followed up with the griots mini and Carpro flash pad aka the hockey puck, which is a monster correcting tool"
Once all the correction was completed, paint was cleaned with eraser and coated with CQUARTZ Classic. All exterior plastic was coated with either DLUX or UK, convertible top was coated with CQUARTZ fabric, then it was in to the engine and interior.
Interior was fairly well kept for a 10 year old car but the engine bay was something I wanted to be over the top since its owned by a mechanic/shop owner. Thoroughly cleaned the bay with meguiars apc and steam then dressed with meguiars hyper shine.
Completed car was came out great and I was very pleased. Even better was the response from both Mike and his wife.

That last pic may be the best one of all. Nothing better than knowing just how much your customers appreciate the hard work that we put into these jobs.
