Lots of work in this truck.... Customer had called me to perform a clay and wax detail about two months earlier and somehow the truck got covered in heavy overspray right after leaving a huge mess on top of scratches, wash marks and a few bad spots due to small paint repairs around the truck. Ben, the owner came back after a short discussion
about CQUARTZ and decided to let me perform a full correction and coating.
Starting point and some of the more severe defects.
First step wash wash with chemicals guys honey do foam. Then iron Decon with iron X on the wheels and iron X snow foam on remaining surfaces. Followed this with a surface cleanse with ultima WW and Carpro Decon towel. Wish I could say that cleared the OS but really only scratched the surface as paint had cured over a month. After several of and compound combination tests, I decided I needed to bring out the big guns. Decided on the Dewalt rotary and HD Speed with a course cut pad. Even this left a lot of work to remove deep defects and overspray. There were at least 25-30 areas of deeper defects that required wet sanding.
From there it was a variety of machines, pads and polishes to correct this paint due to several touch ups and materials.
Finished product was worth all the effort and came out amazing. Ben had since sent me two customers for detailing and is one of my better marketing customers.
Cole and I put a little extra time in some small places like polishing out and coating his mat black wheels and fully coating the plastic wheel wells.
