Alrighty gang....I've read almost every Reload thread I can think of....
It's been about 2 weeks since winter prep/coat was done on the DD.

What camp do you fall in.
Spray reload on paint and then wipe/buff.
Spray reload on MF and then wipe/buff.

Do you premist the MF with Distilled Water.
Do you cut your Reload 1:1 for dark cars.

I'm going to give this a try....
I've had some nightmares with Reload on prior uses 2 years ago, and gave up the ghost on using it.
Going to give it another shot..

On light colored vehicles, I will spray lightly directly on paint with a primer spritz on the m.f.

Dark colored, I'll experiment between paint and towel. I keep 1 m.f. Handy to do a follow up buff and 1 damp, with R/O water, in case. The latter I rarely ever need.

Also, at this point, I would wait another 2 weeks before applying RELOAD. The coating cures fully in 30 days so you're almost there.

Cross your fingers....here's hoping for a holiday hologram free Reload topper

Hopefully you have the new version of Reload. They said they had a bad batch a while back. I've been scared to buy any lately. Maybe I'll give them a little while to work everything out. All there other products are exceptional, I was really let down by Reload. I'm waiting for some good reviews on the detailing sites before I plunk down another $40.

LOL. The 1st 1 liter I got was summer 2013. Holograms after hours of polishing, etc. Tried it 1:1, etc - I have about almost 90% of a L bottle left....

New ones are and are ~fresh~...Reload seems to be the only problem child in my CP stash.
I considered using Hydro2 as a topper (both on hand), but others suggest that given the 2, Reload is better as topper .

Do you have the latest "new" formula? If you bought the first liter from PBMG you can get a store credit if you email them. I bought mine from Autopia and asked for my money back and they said ok. Reload is too expensive of a product for it not to work correctly. That's why I am holding off waiting for reviews. I am using a different booster over Essence until the Reload bugs are worked out.

When I bought the oily Reload, it was a liter (was two 1/2 liter bottles they sent me) from Autogeek, I spoke with Nick, about the problems, and yes, he said send it back, but I had to send it back on my dime, and that cost me some good money, close to $13 in shipping.

My newest and supposed latest version of Reload that I have, I still don't see it being the equal of the Reload of old, the one that came in the 400ml white bottles, and which I still have a tiny bit of left.

Thus, I know well how both work, and how both compare. That I strongly doubt that the new formula is truly the exact same formula of old. Something, some ingredient is different and was changed for some reason.

Sorry to hear you had to pay for return shipping. I PMed Vega@Autopia about the problems with my Reload and he just credited my account without me sending the bad batch back.

Applied reload on the DD as a test bed. LSP is CQUK. Jet Black.
I did a quick mist of the MF with water. Misted generously on the MF, and then another one to buff one. No streaks ! It was going so well, and decided to see what it would product if misted directly on panel. I did a lower door part if it got bad....

Lo and behold, no issues, but obviously took a bit more ~umph~ on wipe off. As I was going around finishing the trim, I noticed I either must one spot very badly or I was blinded for a minute. It was at least 30+ minutes since I had last touched the paint. Grabbed Reload, gave it a spritz on the area where there was still some oil residue and all is well.

There is def. a difference in product formulation on this 6/16 bottle than my prior !
One more car to go and I'll be done with the final winter prep.

Got both Hydro2 and HydroFoam on hand just to see how it works with the washes.
With the surfaces so hydrophobic, I should just dilute may 1.5X the recommended ratio right ?

I've been using the Hydro Lite so I just spray and power rinse. Haven't used Hydro Foam in awhile since I really haven't needed it.

Glad to hear that the RELOAD is working for you.

I know in 2014 that version had issues. Since the 2015 batch I have zero issues on multiple vehicles.

I know.....coatings are not slick , but that has always been my intent with reload.
And indeed the surface is slicker !

Any benefits with another coat of Reload ? Or just wasting product...

I just do 1 coat of RELOAD on the vehicle body and Hydro Lite on the wheels. You could do another coat but I don't "think" it will be slicker. A tad more stout in protection perhaps.
