Thanks for the guys who helped me get me galss sqaured away last week.

After getting my windshield on I noticed that the techician had drop an adhesive on my paint. It is coated with CQuartz Finest. THe stain is white and my car is white so I will post a photo once I get a very high resolution camera.

I want to remove the adhesive. How do I do so without damaging the Cquartz. I used waterless car wash which was obviously not strong enough. Can I use a degreaser? Goo gone? Eraser? Will it need to be polished off? I want to use the least intrusive method possible.

I am assuming I will need to use Reload after getting the stain off.

Finest is pretty resistant to chemicals. I'm not sure about Goo-Gone, but Eraser and Degreaser will be fine on it.

Maybe Corey can chime in about the Goo-Gone.

Here is the MSDS of GooGone (MSDS: GooGone). Note the pH of 1 (which for some reason I doubt, since I've never used gloves and never received a chemical burn). Base on this MSDS I would personally not use it for that reason.

pH of less than 3 or above 13 is not recommended (if memory serves me)

This is windshield urethane.... in white? That's a first, I've only ever seen black.

Urethane is some tough stuff; you may have to resort to mechanical removal with something like a plastic razor blade, but even then you might cause some marring. I'd say you might be better off taking it back to your Finest installer if possible and have them assist.

I would agree you want to avoid going with anything extremely acidic or alkaline as it could damage the upper surface of coating. You can CERTAINLY try some eraser on a quality microfiber towel but don't grind on it. Lightly back and forth and if that does nothing then its time to change tactics. I would NOT buy Eraser just for this purpose as I don't expect it to work. We can throw a variety of ideas at it but without knowing what adhesive this is. The picture may help. The idea of a plastic razor is good BUT by doing so you take some liability off the tech which placed it there. I too would probably use the plastic razor very gently and then if I marred slightly a couple wipes with Reflect. HOWEVER I am not suggesting you do so. If you do anything invasive with a razor without talking to your installer first they will not be in as great of a position to help. Who is your Finest installer and how close are they? (forgive my bad memory) I would be happy to help coordinate some assistance if needed.

It is a clear adhesive so it looks white on white paint.

I am actually going to the installer to have it removed in exchange for bringing him a Jamba Juice.
