Any non wax / oil readily available soaps I can use besides “reset” ?

Just as the title states, I’d like to use a readily available wash / soap. Don’t really wanna order reset or any other “online only” I have readily available meguairs gold class. Heard it was good, but has oils (shine additives) I just CQ UK this past weekend. And looking for an easy / general upkeep method.

I’m looking to just use a more readily available soap / wash when the car actually needs to be clean, cleaned and a 1:1 diluted reload spray after washes probably 2-3 times a month (even though it’s only supposed to be used every 3-6 months).

And I will no longer be using my spray wax, waxes, polishes, etc as I know the dust properties will no longer be there. Any other tips on upkeep!? TIA!

Griot's car wash might be available at AutoZone near you and it could be what your looking for. Looking at whats available at most local places I would say most soaps have some kind of wax, residue they leave behind.

You really should try Reset as it is one of the nicest cleanest rinsing soaps I have every used. I have kept some on hand ever since it cam out and plan on keeping it.

I have never had any issue with Reload and I don't see the point of using it diluted down at 1:1. IMO I want to use the product as directed to get the best look and durability out of it. But I do know at some point CarPro said you could use it at 1:1 for dark colors and to reduce streaking.

Okay thanks @Troy ! I was just curious I’ve seen friends of mine use gold class on theirs (it’s pH balanced, no waxes, does however contain shine additives) so it does have minimal oils in it. But I figure with very minimal (1-3 cap fulls) to 1-2 gal of water in my bucket would be okay. And diluting 1:1 reload after each wash (because I’m ocd) and don’t want to apply once every 3-6 months. Rather be 1-3 times a month. Shouldn’t reload remove any oils left over from soap? Or am I assuming too much here?

I also understand diluting it is really only for darker cars / streaking. I have silver so I don’t have an issue with that. But i figured since I’d be using it after each wash it wouldn’t hurt to dilute and make product last (cause in my mind diluted 1:1 applied 1-3 monthly, and not diluted every 3-6 months would have the same effect) Seems to have the same properties diluted or not from what I’ve seen.

^ Yep that’s the Griots wash I was talking about. I know some that swear by it.

The Megs Gold Class is good stuff. But I find that the gloss enhancers it leaves behind is fairly strong and can really cover up a coating over time.

Yeah I completely understand! Well at that price and it’s readily available that was EXACTLY what I was looking for and I don’t see any waxes or additives listed. So seems like good stuff. Will still use very little of it if the coating is as good as it says #CQuartzUK we shall see! Thanks TROY!!

I’m certain that this particular Griot’s wash contains gloss enhancers like Gold Class.

Griots does make one that contains nothing. Goes by Griot’s Car Wash in an orange bottle. It used to be sold locally.

Meguiar’s Deep Crystal is another that leaves nothing behind. It’s considered their entry level shampoo.

These two over the counter shampoos have a ratio of 1 oz per 1 gallon of water.

Like Troy I would recommend having Reset in your arsenal.

The other option is investing in a falling of Meguiar’s D110 Hyper Wash. It has to be purchased online but it’s dilution ratio is so economical. You’re looking at roughly 1 oz per 4-5 gallons of water. This will last you the longest.

^ Ya. Guz is right. I was mistaken when i glanced at it. the regular Griot’s Car Wash "orange" is what you would be looking for.

Meguiar’s D110 Hyper Wash is my go to car wash and at its ratio I don't track it by the number of car washes but the number of years. I am on my second gallon now and each of them has lasted nearly 2 years each.

Okay great thanks guys! I’ll be looking for Griot’s orange (is it the super concentrated one?) at autozone & Meguiar’s deep crystal (I believe it’s purple I used to see that) if I can’t find those in store I’ll order / use D110!

Thanks again guys! That paired with reload I’ll hopefully be getting a good long lasting out of my coating!

Okay guys I went to auto zone , pep boys and a few others. Could not find the orange Griots wash. So I picked up the Meguiar’s deep crystal at auto zone for $6 and will last a while as it’s a pretty dilute friendly wash and will only require a few caps to 1 gal mix!

Also got a new wash mit and new grit guard for my wash buckets. As well as some premium micro fiber detail clothes for the reload spray that I’ll be ordering soon! Thanks again guys!
