Applied UK 3.0 a year ago. Time to refresh. How?

I did the whole process a year ago. Clay, polish, eraser, Cquartz UK 3.0, etc. Water is still beading but it's time to reapply Cquartz as it is only supposed to last a year. How? Do I need to polish/eraser again? Can I just eraser then apply Cquartz UK 3.0 after a wash? Can I still use the remaining UK 3.0 I had from last year? I have more than enough.

The coating will last as long as it is cared for and also it depends on the environment it is exposed to. Just clarification to your comment about it supposed to lasting a year. For me it has lasted well over a year without the need of any toppers.

If you want to get the maximum performance of the coating then wash, clay, polish, prep wipe and re-coat. You want the paint as contaminant free as possible.

You have the option of using Essence Plus but you would be better off starting over. Essence Plus is ok and you would have to reapply it more often then not.

As long as your bottle has no signs of crystallization then you would be fine to use it.
 
Thanks for the reply. For some reason, I thought I had read the consumer Cquartz was a one year coating and then the professional products applied by detailers were 2+ years depending on the product. I looked at UK 3.0 again and it says it can last 2 years or so. Given I'm in SoCal with infrequent rain being the worst the car sees and the occasional post wash wipe down with Reload, I think I may be good for a bit.

This is the first car I put a ceramic coating on and didn't know if I could put UK 3.0 down on top of a freshly washed car to renew it or if it had to be polished again for the ceramic to adhere properly.
 
Give it a decontamination wash and top it with Elixir or Reload. You should be good to go. I am also in So Cal.
 
Ironx and tarx if needed. If you have Gliss don't use tarx as that will remove Gliss.

The way I do it is spray ironx onto the surface if the paint is not to dirty prior to a wash. I follow that up with a rinse. Then foam with Reset and bucket wash with Reset, rinse and dry. After you dry you can follow up with Reload or Elixir.
 
Thanks. I always thought using iron x or tar x would damage the ceramic. Good to know I can use these bottles of product for something other than a start from scratch cquartz application.
