Benefits on Hydro2 or Hydrofoam for coated vehicles

I'm well aware hydro is meant more for the market of quick wash and seal. And or sealing surfaces that are hard to deal with like wheels.

For vehicles that have cqf and cquk, topped with Reload, would you consider maintaience washes with either hydro2 or Hydrofoam. And or Reload is a better product overall than the hydro line ?

Does the latter 2 change to a degree the hydrophobic properties of cqf or cquk.

I'm just thinking in terms of winter washing / boosters if u want to call it, for the salt, and the extra benefit of sealing wheels/windows when I want to get my washes done quicker.

Another option is adding ech2o to your wash regiment as it leaves a little SiO2 behind.

Does Ech2o have protection in it?

Ech2o does have some Sio2 (quartz) protection in it BUT its main focus is on safely cleaning and glossing a variety of surfaces.

Pro Tip: Mix a couple ounces of CarPro Reload with your next RTU bottle of Ech2O for added protection!

But I don't see a problem with using hydro or hydrofoam.

A reset wash followed by reload would also work.

You really can't go wrong with either of these options.

never have been a fan of WW washes.

I DO keep small bottle of UWWP for bird bombs in the cars but that's as far as it goes on WW.
Don't really need/use drying aids as cars are blown dry and then whatever remains, get's blotted.

I posted it as it can be used as a QD as well. You can use that after you have dried the car.

I am full rinseless now so perhaps others can chime in on the products you are interested in.

CQF along with RELOAD is a stout combination. I have seen a few months longevity with RELOAD on non coated vehicles in the winter time.
As far as maintenance washes, here are my two winter regiments:
1. Regular wash, 3 buckets, foam cannon, etc... I use RESET as my soap. If I notice or feel I need a booster on my wheels, I will hit them with Hydro Lite after I'm done cleaning. That is dictated by the winter we are having and how much salt my cars are exposed to and harsh environment conditions.

2. It's really really cold out and I do a Rinseless wash in the garage. I'll take my truck to the local self wash bay, rinse the heavy crud, and bring it back home into my garage. From there, once the truck warms up a bit, I'll do the R.w. I have used UWWP in the past but now will use Echo 2.

Each winter dictates something different but the only time, a couple of years ago, that I felt a "need" to hit the wheels with any protectant I did use RELOAD. Those were my pre Hydro Lite days.

My opinion, I wouldn't feel a need to use Hydro Foam or Hydro 2 every time you wash. Again, your environment and element exposure will factor into your decision process for your situation. Maybe once a month with one or the other. As I said earlier, the CQF and RELOAD combo are pretty stout.

Mike,

Going full Rinseless, any particular thought process or situational issues? I'm trying to for routine maintenance washes but sometimes just miss doing the ol' foam cannon...:D

Well the drought here in Southern California dictated the migration over to rinseless. I do it on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to keep the daily driver clean. One gets very good doing it so many times. On the garage queen I can tend to go a little longer before I rinsless that one as it just gets a light layer of dust from sitting in the garage. It helps that this one is coated. The daily will be coated soon but I just had it repainted about a month ago so letting the paint cure a little more before I do.

One thing I do not have to deal with is snow. So I don't have to consider all the salt and snow on the paint. Just the dust layer that accumulates and the occasional rain storm that we may get. I will pre-soak depending on how much dirt is on the paint.

I have not used a foam cannon in so long. I will use a foam gun if I get bored with rinseless washing. I will do a traditional wash at times to break up the boredom but that is getting pretty rare. Just to convenient for me to do a rinsless wash. That and also the fact that the fines are pretty high for those that are seen to be "wasting water". I have heard of some neighbors reporting other neighbors which results in a fine.

My choice of rinseless is ONR. Works great on all coatings.
