Carnauba over Essence?

I have been reading every thread I can find on Essence but still haven't found anyone posting their experience topping it with a Carnauba or even a sealant. I am not really a coating guy and havent tried Reload. I actually enjoy waxing my vehicles and trying new products on them. I would love to continue using UPP or the array of waxes I continually purchase, but I have not seen any first hand reports yet. Has anyone topped Essence with anything but Reload or a coating? Good or bad experience? Thanks everyone for the advice.

I personally have used many different sealants and carnauba waxes over Essence with no issues.

Not all of my clients want a coating...but IMHO every one of them needs some level of correction.
I like using Essence for many reasons one of them is "least aggressive method" to get the job done.
I have found in many cases that I can do a 1 step with Essence for the correction & additional gloss.

Some folks I do have garage queens that they only want wax and do not have a need or want a coating.
Lots of folks I do enjoy thier one-on-one Mr. Miyagi wax on/wax off personal time with their vehicles.
We all know Carnauba's are about "looks" and not longevity. Carnauba's have different "looks" to them.

Short Version: Yes, I have topped Essence with sealants and carnauba's & it has been a good experience.

A little new skewl, a little old skewl...kinda kewl!

Thank you so much Merlin. That is exactly what I needed to know. I am one of those that enjoys personal time with my vehicles and a pot of carnauba (except for my F150 Supercrew - it gets UPP since it is way too much work to ax that thing every month).

I might order up some Reload today and see how it looks. I have personally never seen a car with Reload on it so I have no idea what to expect. I love the deep, soft gloss of Carnauba (and even UPP) so I am a little uncertain if I would like Reload. All of my vehicles are black and I am worried about getting the plastic Zaino look. Thanks again for the info.

Merlin what would be your recommendation as far as topping essence on ruby red metallic paint for maximum enhancement of the metallic effect. Longevity not as important as the look.

I am a huge UPP fan. I have tried Blackfire as well. I think they are very close to each other in looks, but I find UPP to be somewhat more durable and it has absolutely zero dusting no matter how thick you put it on. I top UPP with Vics Red (Corey recommended this) and it is beautiful on black. I think I am going to try this after an Essence polish this weekend unless someone chimes in and tells me it is a bad idea. I might even just top the Essence with Vics Red since this is a tiny car that I will have no issues waxing frequently.

Four Star UPP will always have a place in my "arsenal". I love that polymer sealant. Easy on/Easy off, looks great.

I have used Reload over Essence and it looks fanfreakingtastic.

Has anyone tried hydro2 over essence? It's much cheaper than reload.
I believe you have to let Essence cure for a bit. I'd rather try Reflect and Hydro2.

As for carnauba waxes, how is the durability affected by Essence?

I was finally able to do the compunding and polishing on the Porsche I picked up. Unfortunately I forgot to take before pictures, but I can tell you it was the most swirled paint I have ever seen on a car. Soft black Porsche paint is apparently incredibly swirl prone. II tried a few combinations of compunds/pads and surprising the best combination was Megs D301 and a microfiber cutting pad. This combo removed 99% of all swirls quickly and easily. It did leave hollograming, but I planned to finish with Essence, so I wasnt worried. I did my finish polish with Essence and honey pads that COrey recommended. Once I learned how to use the product (very little Essence and super slow passes) the finish came out amazing. I am really blown away by Essence. This is definitely my new favorite finishing polish.

I am now at the point of deciding between Reload or Vics Red. I know how amazing Vics looks on black, but I have never seen Reload on a black car. Does anyone have any pics they could shoot me to help make my decision easier? I know Reload is more durable than Vics, but this car is tiny and I wont mind waxing once a month. I would also welcome opinions on my debate. I plan to put the first coat on tonight. Thanks for the help everyone.

I am a huge fan of UPP and currently have it on my F150 and the wife's Nissan. In my mind it is the best sealant out there. That said, I like playing with different waxes on my cars that aren't DD's. This one is so tiny I dont mind waxing it and trying lots of combos. BTW, Vics over UPP on jet black looks amazing.

As to which is the best wax for a black vehicle tends to be a subjective vote, since users have different experiences with products, depending on circumstances such as climate and condition of use. A car that is frequently driven will need a deeper layered and high end wax coating more than an occasional ride.
As a modest who goes for both cost and performance, CarGuys Liquid Wax works best for my black R8.
The crystal clear shine of this auto wax is dazzling and you get to love the more than 6 months durability of the wax. Unlike cheap auto waxes that don’t last a couple of days. CarGuys is a solution of nextgen nano polymers that assure durable protection. The best wax for black cars with scratches should not leave the paint swirly and I can attest that has been the case with carguys unlike the previous waxes I used like Turtle.
This wax needs 1 or 2 times annual application and it still outshines most polishes. This is because the polymers go to the car finish molecules and force their crosslinking, thereby realizing a sleek, deep and long term radiance.
It is effortless to apply and thus you don’t have to check into a garage for professional assistance. Carguys lifts your motty’s black gloss to a whole new level, a super gloss radiance that goes a couple months.
It hydrophobic properties make it easy to dry the car with a microfiber towel without the need for an electric blower and the vehicle completely dries without water spotting.

How long does Essence need to cure before applying Reload? I am getting my Charger ready for winter (it is a daily driver) and time is of the essence (pun intended).
Essence + Reload has been a great combination and would like to use it this time as well if I have the time to allow for curing.

Are you working by hand or machine? The reason I ask is because of this from the product description

2 - Do I have to use Eraser between Essence and CQuartz?

If your using Essence by machine and you wait until the vehicle is finished then you can apply Reload or CQuartz after you finish the vehicle starting in the same direction you polished. If you want to be ultra safe you can still Eraser but in our testings to date we have not seen any failure when we skipped Eraser.

If your using Essence by hand then we recommend you use Eraser before coating.
