CarPro Merino Wool Mitt (Wooly)

All I really need to say is WOW! This thing rocks. For many years I used the GG MicroFiber mitts and thought those were great. Little did I know the Wooly would change that.

Here is a pic of the wet wooly: long soft wooly fibers that hold a ton of water. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431866168.753846.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1431866181.278892.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1431866192.980186.jpg

With all that water the wooly slides effortlessly across the paint. Made the GG MicroFiber mitt feel like sandpaper. I did a rinse-less wash with 1oz of IUDJ in 4 Gallons of water. It is amazing how much different the Wooly feels on the paint compared to the microfiber mitt.

Here is a pic showing the hand slot. Gives the operator great control. I like that my hand is on the outside versus inside a mitt. All the weight of the mitt is in the palm of your hand. Much less water running down your arm when you reach up to wash a panel. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1431865835.370345.jpg

At the end of the day the microfiber mitt ended up in the trash.

Well worth the $20. I don't know why I waited so long.

Quick wipe down with v2015 Reload and it looks perfect again.

Very nice, glad to hear how much you are enjoying the mitt. It became my favorite wash media several years ago. I believe I had one of the very first ones in the US. The only other mitt I ever use is the MM Incredimitt. Once you go with either, nothing else will ever do! A couple of tips for your wool mitt:

1. Always rinse well with warm water after each use.
2. After rinsing; take it out side, while holding the edge of the mitt tightly, spin it fast like a helicopter. The centrifugal force will spin most of the water out and fluff up the fibers.
3. Place it wool side down on your grit guard, or pad drying rack.
4. After completely dry (2 days) run a wire dog brush through it to fluff/soften the fibers.

Do this and you will be amazed how long these mitts will last, and how well they will perform!

It's funny you mention that. My wife is a hair stylist and I got in a little trouble this morning for using one of her hairdryers giving the mitt a 'blo-out' after I rinsed the mitt.. The dog brush worked well.

Awesome review!! Thank you so much!

It was Tad that convinced me to spring for it back in the day, he was right!

Sweet!! I need me one of those..... but I have a hard time with thinking that they can be as fun as my Microfiber Madness mitts :)

I sprang for these to help maintain coated vehicles, and I cannot add any more to the fact that these are wonderful?

HUMP

I too love this mitt. I use this and the MM Incredimitt.

The only thing that I can add to what's been said is....don't use your wife's hair brush to fluff up the mitt after it's dried...

She obviously does not share the same deep rooted passion for detailing as I do.

I'm in love with this mitt.

I have a question. I use it every day and it doesn't have the time to fully dry or to hair brush.
In this case, what recommendations do you have so it will last a while?

TIA

It will still last well but I would say get another so that once a week you can let this one dry and light brush.

Other than that just rinse it very well and squeeze, not twist after each day

Thanks Corey.. that's what I thought.
I've been wanting to contact you but there has been a lot of work lately.

Truly amazing mitts and I tried dozens over my 10 years of detailing.

I'll second the opinions, this is the BEST whool wash mitt i have ever used to date, i use it for the horizontal panels and half of the vertical ones, then use the MM Incredimitt on the lower panels and bumpers. Really good products and amazing price/quality ratio ! I bought another one after being so pleased with it for the past 6 months. It glides so effortllessly, its like you are massaging your car's panels ;-)

I like this mitt because it's single sided. I've found the double sided to be too heavy, especially since you can only use one side at a time.
