Greetings,
I just picked up Car Pro Fabric. I have used the previous version before (F & L), which worked great.
Applying to a Z4 Convertible Top.
I have already prepped the top, as follows:
Yesterday:
-Cleaned with 303 Multi Surface Fabric Cleaner & horse hair brush (long one, like a shoe brush)
-Rinsed
-Final rinse after with pressure washer at a comfortable distance from the top.
-Let dry 12 hours with air mover & electric heat in my shop.
Today:
-Steam cleaned with distilled water, only, no chemicals. And wiped with MF towel.
-Planning to let dry with air mover & heat over next 5 hours and then apply this evening.
Tips on application? Have already emailed Corey and he replied with a nice set of tips, however, always like to get multiple perspectives/ ideas.
As I understand it, spray fabric lightly in one section, massage product in with sponge, move to next section until top complete. Let dry 24 hours.
Questions-
What kind of sponge? Grout/ wax applicator (not used previously, of course) etc...?
I have the time to do another coat tomorrow... would you apply a second coat?
I also plan on using air mover and heat to help product cure after application.
Does this all sound reasonable to you?
Many thanks,
-Gabe
