CQuartz and certain DIY Paints.

Well, yesterday I decided to again hand brush paint my little Kia "Spectra" logos on the back of my crapbox Kia. Did it simply in Gold Testors model paint like I have done before in the past.

Of course no run of the mill wax, or sealant will protect this sort of paint for very long, and had maybe a dozen drops of CQ UK left in a bottle, and thought maybe use this to protect?

Nope, the solvents-carrier agents in CQ are evidently a little bit too harsh, the paint started coming off.

I'll try some Reload I have laying around, since water based, this might be the best candidate

That is an interesting question. I wonder if you would have the same "solvent/carrier issues" if you were to atomize the CQuartz product rather than wiping it on with the applicator (with a small airbrush)

Hmm, that's an idea, but still after such, wouldn't one still have to wipe with a MF Towel to smooth-level before full set up of product?

Of course, who paints their vehicles with testors model paint? LOL

I'm sure there would be no issues with paints like Dupicolor type sprays once they are dry and have cured a bit.

I believe that spraying the product would "minimize" the high spots, and also believe that anything left behind would be lost in the texture of the spray paint. Just my inexperience thought on the matter ;)
