CQuartz, CQuartz TiO2 and Gliss

I have several questions...

I just coated my new car with CQuartz about a week ago. I cleaned it with Iron X, then clayed it, then polished it with Klasse AIO... then coated it with CQuartz and let cure. I have rinsed washed it once since then after 4 days to get dust off. I have NOT applied any Reload or anything else.

Not realizing there was s newer formula... CQuartz TiO2 ... I purchased the older CQuartz. Would it benefit me to add another coat of the CQuartz TiO2 over the original CQuartz... and other than Reset and Eraser, is there anything else I need to do before coating with CQuartz TiO2?

I would also like to add Gliss, so would it be simply a matter of washing with Reset, applying Eraser, apply CQuartz TiO2, allowing it to cure, then applying Gliss?

I would also like to apply FlyBy Forte on my windshield and windows... would I apply Gliss on top of Forte?

What's the best product to use on the actual wipers?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

First thing I notice from what you wrote is that you use and all in one product prior to applying the coating. It is not recommended to use and all in one product as it leaves protection behind and hinders the coating from bonding to the bare paint. The longevity of the coating is affected. I would actually recommend polishing it off to get back to bare paint, followed by eraser and the re-coat to get the maximum performance of the coating.

Cquartz UK is the recent coating that has been updated to CQUK 3.0.

Which version of cquartz do you have, UK or Classic/TiO2? How old was the version you used?

Gliss can be applied at 4 hours minimum after the last coat of CQUK or TiO2.

No need to use Gliss over FlyByForte. The directions for FlyByForte is to also apply it to wipers.

As I mentioned I would polish to get back to the bare paint, followed by Eraser and apply 2 coats of either coating and finally followed by gliss 4 hours after.

Thanks for the reply.

Several years ago (2010-2011) I asked Corey by email specifically if Klasse AIO was okay to use prior to coating with CQuartz, and he said it was fine, so it's what I've been using for several years. I know Klasse makes a sealant to go on top of AIO, but I don't use that. I can't totally speak for longevity, as I kept Reload on my cars for the short period I kept them, with the exception of one car, which I did notice it did not last as long on it as I would have thought it should.

I suppose I have the original version of CQuartz, as I just recently purchased it from Amazon a little over a week ago.

I suppose if AIO should actually not be used, I have wasted good money on several packages of CQuartz over the years. I wish I had kept the emails... but I looked back and do not see them.

The version of Cquartz you have is the TiO2 version.

Klasse AIO does leave a layer or protection behind so it will affect the longevity of any coating. So it’s not recommended to use any sort of AIO prior to applying a coating.

I’ll let others chime in as well.

If your looking for an AIO to use prior to a Cquartz coating then Essence would be the polish to use.
