CQuartz; First Time User

I've viewed several videos on applying CQuartz, and with every video there are different applications used. Some use Soap-Gel, others do not. Some use erasor, others do not. Some use erasor just before applying CQuartz, others use it after the Iron-X.

Would a reader please specify the correct sequence, if there is such a thing, and also provide instructions in the use of each item? Again, I am an amateur trying to put a nice color protectant on my 2006 Buick Lacrosse, with only 24,000 miles and a paint job that still looks like factory new. The process is simple:
  1. Wash the car thoroughly
  2. Chemically decontaminate the car thoroughly (IronX and TarX)
  3. Mechanically decontaminate (claying process)
  4. Inspection
  5. Wash the car AGAIN
  6. Test Spot (to dial in your process)<-- Don't forget to use the lease aggressive process to get the result you are looking for)
  7. Compound and/or Polish (based on test spot and inspection)
  8. Erasor wipedown
  9. Inspection
  10. Erasor wipedown
  11. Inspection
  12. Coating

Great advise from Dr_Pain! To add - when you coat you want to have good ambient lighting especially your first time so you know what your doing by being able to see it BEFORE the entire car is complete. If it is applied to the entire car in a dark garage you are likely to find a high spot once it gets pulled into the light SO its very important to be able to view it in the correct lighting from a few angles as you go BEFORE it cures.

Stormy - as the forum Kings already mentioned good lighting is key. The only thing I would add would be to work a small area at a time. Take your time and be patient with the removal/buffing of the coating. If you try to go too fast you will end up with high spots.
