Cquartz TiO2 vs UK

Been reading a lot trying to consider whether or not to start using UK rather than TiO2. I have used the TiO2 with great success and not normally one to change if something is working so I would be interested in real life experiences from folks that have used both. I am in the Houston Texas area.

A few pieces of information I have gathered along the way and open for comments on these too. As i understand it:

UK has a lower working temps. I don't think that's an issue for my location

UK isn't as slick?

UK makes note of a "higher" silica content? Assuming that makes it harder but roughly how much?

Is UK glossier than TiO2 or would you have to also apply something like Gliss as a consideration? Adding time and expense for similar end results?

Any help weighing the pros and cons of each would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Both are great products and both from my experience perform equally well.

I will start off by mentioning that CQUK was reformulated less than a year ago and thus the 3.0 added to the name.

It is much easier to use and can be used in various climates now among other things. It is also less tacky than the previous formula.

You are correct that TiO2 is a tad slicker in a side by side comparison.

One thing to note is that don’t read too much into the coating hardness element. They are not impervious to swirls and scratches. As long as they are cared for they will perform. Now saying that, CQUK 3.0 is the harder of the two coatings along with being a bit more durable and TiO2 being the more stain resistant.

The TiO2 in the product is there to give the coating more reflectivity compared to CQUK 3.0. CQUK 3.0 tends to darken the paint a bit more. Not that noticeable on light paints. A majority of the gloss will come from the polishing stage.

If you want to try something different then go for it. You will be happy with CQUK 3.0.

Gliss is going to add that slickness to both more so than added gloss. At least from my experience.

Maybe these charts will help. The CQUK one is from the previous formula but still valid.

I have a dumb question. Sio2 I assume stands for Silica Dioxide, What does Tio2 stand for? I like to have facts when customers ask questions. Thanks
