One of four vehicles I've done for this customer.
Washed with Megs D111, Iron X'd, and clayed
Correction consisted of Flex XC 3401 VRG + Megs 5" MF Cutting Disc + D300 (my new favorite combo), PC7424XP + Megs 3" cutting disc + D300
Polished with PC7424XP + 5" Lake Country White CCS Pad + Wolfgang Finishing Glaze

Interior was cleaned and dressed with a low-gloss mix of Megs D170 and D101
Seats cleaned and conditioned with Megs D180

Tires dressed with PERL

All black plastic received a coating of dLux.

First time I've ever had issues with UK, or CQuartz in general. Applied two coats of UK and applied Reload 24hrs later. Vehicle looked great in the shop and looked even better in the sun, but as I pulled the vehicle out to deliver it to the customer around 5:00, I saw streaks covering the entire vehicle..
I worked the product too long or didn't wipe it off soon enough. Maybe a combination of both. Either way, I've learned my lesson to apply the product with good ambient lighting, rather than direct lighting.

I ended up polishing the entire vehicle, again, with a 5" Gloss Pad and Reflect. Then applied one coat of UK outside in ambient light; it was so much easier to see the product flash.

Thanks for your help Corey!

Wow...that truck is a beast. I really like that hood shot. Great work!

Steve

The problem was actually with UK, not Reload.
I used 1 and a half bottles of UK and only part of a bottle of dLux

The part I hated most was the roof! It's so long and the roof rack and rails really made it a challenge to compound/polish/coat

I'll second that...I HATE doing the roof on any truck. Especially on a beast like that. Great job on it.

Kevin... :)

Here's a picture of the streaks that only showed up under ambient lighting. Had to be polished off and re-coated :(

Again, I'm fairly certain the streaks are from overworking the product (wiping it in too much) and not being able to see high spots while wiping it off under direct light.

Truly a night and day difference when I decided to apply and wipe off under ambient light because it was soooo easy to see! That, plus adjusting my technique has made me prefer CQUK over classic Cquartz now; it's easier to work with in my opinion.

GREAT work!

Sadly, "The sun is my best friend and my worst enemy!"

Wow...you ended up doing a lot of work. But that's what separates the Great detailers vs. the (I'll be nice) from the good detailers. Seeing something wrong (no matter how big or small the problem) and fixing it to perfection. That says a lot about you!!! Great job!!!

:)

Kevin..

I've had a few streaking issues, in the past, with the older Reload formula(s) on dark/black cars.
After all the prior extra time, effort & energy I'm sill a bit gun shy to use it on black/dark paint.

Now on the bright side, what can I do with the bottles of the older Reload formula???

I've fell in love with using it on the wheels. Quick, easy, spray, wipe TA-DA! Looks great!
I've been doing this for a while. Looks good, stays clean, great shine, excellent results.

That project took awhile. Sheesh.

Have you tried diluting the new Reload formula with water on black paint? I've recently coated a black corvette and am going to try doing that.
