So I was just looking at the carpro website, looking to make another purchase, and I noticed that 10ml bottle CQUK says it will cover one average car, and that 30ml bottle will do like 3 average size cars.. Now not to long ago I coated a car with CQUK and used the whole bottle, two coats on the top areas, hood, roof, and trunk, and 1 coat on all the rest.. now if what I mentioned up top is true, then what, did I use way to much per panel, or will 30 ml really only do 1 average size car..

I usually get about 2 average sized vehicles from a 30ml bottle. However, I have been told by others it is possible to get 3.

It perhaps depends on the definition of "car"? Fiat-Abarth perhaps yes, 1995 Lincoln Town Car, I'm gonna say maybe, and maybe not?

I'm not going to say it cannot be done, but I would think it would depend on the size of the vehicle, and the degree of mastery-experience to use that little amount of product. (10ml) Perhaps that smaller amount might be better suited for a Motorcycle or a smaller project?

It appears over-applying isn't a problem as long as the product is properly smoothed-leveled after the initial application. That perhaps it is better to know you have good coverage by over-lapping.

As has been mentioned, with left over product, one can add an additional layer to certain areas, or coat other areas of the vehicle like door jambs, under hood and trunk.

Certainly better IMO to have a little bit too much product than not enough.

Yes, more product of course costs more money, but in the long run I would say CQuartz is actually inexpensive for what it does, and how it will outlast so many lesser waxes and sealants.

Plus there's the factor of your personal time to maintain a vehicle, and this sometimes is hard to place a price upon.

All the above comments are helpful. I will only add that 10ml is assumed as approximate for one coat on one car. I use more when using UK as well. For my environment it's easier to use excess when using UK and easy labor is greater than a couple extra $ on product.

I bought the 50ml kit cause I have 2 SUV's i want to coat. After doing one I will have plenty left over. Since I will have alot left over, is it worth the time and effort to do a second coat? Or am I wasting my time as one is plenty. Sorry to thread jack BTW :p

I've always tried to consciously apply to all areas (without missing any), and apply thick. Therefore I do not do a second coat with either "Original" or "UK". I know many others do apply a second coat. But as long as you got all areas with a generous coat, I see no need for a second.

Yep i used a lot. Almost to the point i think i used too much. I was very conscious to get every area. So I think I'm good.

I'm by far no CQuartz Expert, and haven't yet even gone through my first 50ml bottle of UK. But I think if you have noted a good application with no high spots, smudges, streaks, or any other oddities, I would say you're good to go.

I've seen such with some other coatings, (DP) some very slight evidence on my Kia's Hood of what looked like thickish mis-application which once after dried were only going to probably come off by polishing. Didn't really care about this daily driver so much about showroom appearances, considering the hood is also quite loaded with rock chips, and other nasty damage.

Without a doubt, time taken, good lighting, do surely help.

But, I have a whole fresh 50ml bottle of UK sitting in it's lovely box, a Tahoe that's now basically coated except for inner door jambs, tailgate, under hood paint, which will use probably not even a 1/3rd of this unopened bottle.

I know once I open it, the clock starts ticking, and I'm scratching my head this end of what else can I coat?

Well, I have two pristine Racing Bikes, a Bianchi and a NOS flawless Schwinn 50th Anniversary Paramount in Pearl White Metallic with 24ct Gold Plated Fork, 2 killer Refractor Telescopes at about $12k for the pair, even crossed my mind to Coat my 1980 Slingerland Barret Deems Drumset in White Marine Pearl Wrap?

As for the Deems Drumset, I think no, don't do anything dumb, the wrap is not Paint. I value this pristine drumset that Barret actually owned at about $7K. Maybe Reload would be a better choice!

As for coating someone else's vehicle here, not happening. People here will just not pay what my work, and products used are worth, I'd rather flush the UK down the toilet first.

Yep no high spots or streaking with the UK. Now Reload was a different story. Didn't read the directions and got streaking. Not oily halos as others have experienced. Just needs to be diluted since it was dark paint.
