Crazy Pile Question

Can you guys tell us with which application / product the towels lint? Wax? Detailer? Can you Name the product? We did a few minutes ago a Trial with a "out of the box" Summit 800 on a high gloss finish - maybe 1 or 2 Points of lint, but nothing to be afraid of... We used in that case a Surf City Garage Speed Demon Wax Detailer.

@ZL1 Mark: How often did you wash and dry them? Could you realize any lint in the dryer?

I always use my MFM towels for either coating application/removal or Reload application/removal... nothing else. I have other crappy towels for cleaning. I always use the softest towels I have for these applications and I've never seen any linting.

I wash and dry them after every use. I use them on non contaminated paint as a drying aid with UWW.

Anyhow, Corey has taken care of me like he does everyone. :)

Crazy Pile Edges

So I just put my new batch of Crazy Piles through the paces (I have 8 now!) and I just want to make sure that these edges are ok - is this normal wear? Anything I should be aware of? Some of my Crazy Piles are still appearing "plush" even along the edges, and some you can see the edge.

Here is one of mine that the edges are still really nice and plush, although you can see some of the fibers "clumping" (the clumps are easily removed):

Here's the one from the picture before side by side with one where the edges are looking more exposed:

More of my Madness collection! The edge is more pronounced in the bottom two towels.

Hi Chadg

The Situation you are talking about is normal. There shouldnt be any hardened edge, so this is only an optical "issue". Problem is, that all these towels are made BY HAND. That means there is no machine which is cutting 10 towels per minute. In fact, a cutting process of a towel Needs up to 5 minutes per towel! So because of this hand work, every edge is different. Even the slightest difference in the Basic material could cause a difference in cutting. So this is a tough Job most People couldnt imagine! Beside of this, the ultrasonic blades are changing from "brand new" to "used", at the end of the life circle you must replace the blades. In the space between, the edges could change.

Anyway, what you show is normal. Any fabric residue on the edges could be usually easily removed - that is also caused by cutting. Dont know how to explain in english, I will try: If this is a common word: An ultrasonic cut with this thick fabric could be compared with a "Perforation". That means, that when the cut is done the cutted material is NOT falling down, no, the cutting guy must remove the exceed part of towel. Sometimes this goes very easily, sometimes a Little bit more tough. So during this process sometimes small fabric residue could be left on the edges.

Please Keep always in mind: HANDCRAFT makes every product "unique" and could cause differences from any product you buy. Thats the challenge for us but at the end this is one of the PRO Facts of Microfiber Madness.
