Well, I am probably a nitpicker, but as a first time do-er I would like to ask:

on your e-shop you are saying that one should use 16" suede towel to spread followed by CarPro BOA MF to buff

but on your instructions video both here and here you are using suede towels only.

So, am I OK with just suede ones, or do I really need other MFs? From the videos it seems that suedes working just fine and is no need for another one

Thanks in advance

I apply with a 4x4 suede MF, spread the gel with a 16x16 suede MF... and do a final wipedown with a BOA to remove any carrier oils that may have been left behind. The suede MF are treated MF so are therefore not the best absorbers. A BOA provides a nice thick pile to remove those oily carriers. Hope it helps! As with fdresq4 I've never had a problem with suede alone but find the process with the BOA to be slightly superior

I've never liked those micro suede flat sheen application cloths. there's a very limited amount of surface area for the product to accumulate before the act of wiping off becomes the same act of applying and spreading out.

In other words trying to use a flat sheen cloth results in you fighting yourself. I prefer a MF short nap application pad, or yes...even a very small Waffle weave MF towel to apply coatings.

^^ agreed!

For wiping off I use the suede just to grab some excess and then boa to get all residue off.

The other video isn't mine

OK, so the perfect scenario is 4" suede application pad > 16" suede for even application of the product and some wipe off > BOA for get all residue off.

Correct?

That's correct, the 4" suede and Boa is important. The 16" suede is a preference for me but not as important.

Hey Claude,

After wiping down with the Suedes how soon do you follow up with the BOA MF's?

Hope all is well with you my friend!

Finally I am ordering, can I ask how many 4" and 16" towels do I need for 2 layers of CQUK on average car?

How many sections can I do with 4"? Then I am guessing for every section I do a fresh fold on the 16".
And lastly, these 16" are one-time-use only like 4", or should they be washed and used again? Seems risky to me.

Thanks!

If I remember for 1 coat, I used at least 5 or 6 for the 4 inch. With the 16", fold it into 4's. You will feel a difference in how it grabs when wiping down. Then it's time to use afresh side. I forget how many of those but mix a bucket of water with an APC and toss those 16" towels into it. Let em soak then wash as you would. Those 16 " es will be fine by doing that. The 4" ones are goners.
I remember ordering a 10 pack of each and I was fine...for one coat.

Look forward to seeing those pics!

I bought a large package of the 24" I think then just cut them down to 4" and use and toss. My removal towels go in a bucket of apc.

thank you, so I go with 20 small and 20 big ones. That should be OK for 1 car and I will see then.
