Just tried out Scholl Concepts S3 Gold for the first time and need some input as I seem to be developing a fair amount of dust. I paired with a Blue Spider pad on a Porter Cable DA, my process was as follows.
- 5-6 drops, spread on panel > speed 2/3
- Speed 5, 3-4 passes crosshatch, more than medium pressure, slow arm speed
- as product diminishes, 2-3 pass at speed 3 with no pressure
I don't have much experience with cutting/rubbing compounds so my references is limited, but this seems to be dusting more than Griots One-Step Sealant and Complete polish…
I have noticed these manufacture reps are actually priming their pads in full, am I just not using enough product? Am I not applying enough pressure? For a product reported to have very little dusting this wasn't what I was expecting or seen in videos.

This is all trial in working up to coating my truck...My girlfriend's car (16 Honda Accord) hasn't been maintained, I clay barred first followed by Nanoskin Autoscrub before compounding. I'm getting good results on scratches/swirls but it struggles a bit on water spots. Of course I'd like to get it in one shot, but I'm not sure the more aggressive White Spider pad is the router. I think I'll try and pretreat the water spots, but fair warnings giving S3 Gold a shot with Megs Microfiber Cutting Disk and the Porter Cable DA?
