Echo2 vs ONR

I have to ask one of you pros, I have a coated car and want to do a rinseless wash, is ONR (Optimum No Rinse) and Echo2 essentially the same product? It looks the same and supposedly does the same. So walks like a duck, quacks like a duck?

One big difference is in the protection left behind. Ech2o leaves behind SiO2 (quartz) protection behind and ONR leaves polymer protection behind.

I used ONR for (of all things) a clay lube and rarely used it as a rinseless wash.

Now for clay lube I use Immolube. I find it to be very a unique Carpro product.
Immolube is concentrated. It doesn't take much & you're not paying to ship water.

Until ECH2o I was not a big fan of waterless wash. Now I keep a bottle in my vehicle.
The bottle fits perfectly in my door panel "cup holder" & I keep a towel in the pocket.

My "Merlin's Magic Elixir" is a special formula handed down to me by a wise alchemist.

1) CarPro 500ml Empty Spray Bottle
1) CarPro ECH2o Concentrate (Approx 10:1)
1) CarPro Reload (approx 10:1)

Short Version:
I pour 1 1/2 oz ECH2o and 1 1/2 oz Reload into the 500ml bottle, fill with distilled water & shake.
I keep "Merlin's Magic Elixir" and a CarPro Orange Towel (they lint...wash 'em first) in my vehicle.

I love that Magic Elixir, Merlin. It’s what I recommend my customers to use & we use daily on maintenance washes

Do you know if ONR works as great as Ech2O when mixed with Reload and distilled water (as Merlin)?

I'm not a chemist but...IIRC ONR is a cleaner and Elixir cleans and protects.

Yes for sure.
I am not sure if Comparing ONR and Elixir is a good idea as they are not in the same category. Maybe we should make comparison between ONR and Ech2o. Because I wonder if ONR is a good substution for Ech2o.

Have you considered comparing ONR and Ech2o instead of Elixir, as they are more closely related in category, and are you curious if ONR is a suitable substitute for Ech2o in your situation?

I am not interested in comparing qd’s only; ONR vs Ech2O.
Instead I am trying to understand if I can use ONR instead of Ech2O, while making mixture Merlin.
