So I finished my Turbo today with CQuartz and picked up my buddy's 991 GT3RS from Porsche (35 miles on it) and headed home to detail it for him. The dealership kindly hosed it down with water filled with calcium and left it in the sun to AIR DRY!!! It took a friend of mine and me 5 hours to correct the paint (new from the factory) to 95%. We had to used a MF cutting pad with Megs D300 followed with CarPro Essence on a MF cutting pad and finished with CarPro Essence on a CarPro Gloss pad. We were very happy with the results and very happy to be done!

Wow, I have yet to see a 991/2 RS up close in person. Nice work!

I was at the Nurburgring about two months waiting for a Taxi ride around the ring in a 991 GT3 and these were the top cars I saw there: (2) Ferrari Speciale, (4) Porsche GT4, and (5) Porsche 991 GT3RS. Quite a day!

A good friend and her fiancé took the taxi ride a couple of months ago in an E60 M5 with the fake soundtrack turned all the way up!

Drsullivan...GREAT JOB!!! Turned out amazing!!! Isn't it amazing how dealerships mess up bid time? A lot of them just do not know how to properly detail.

Kevin :)

It absolutely is!!!! We are asking what they are going to do for us with 5% of the paint having remaining defects that will need wet sanding. No reply yet! For $210k you'd think they extend themselves to help as much as possible to retain my friend's business.

You would think a dealer selling a vehicle would use deionized water, or something. I mean common. Tell them you want a new one.

Funny thing is they are denying that hose water could have done any damage to the car and they are blamming rain.

So typical...passing blame onto others or other possibilities. They know they did it. They just don't want to own up to it because then they would be admitting to fault. And you're absolutely correct. Dropping that much money & the "possible" residual/continued income they would have gotten, would've outweighed more if they just said, "SORRY, WE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT AND MAKE IT BETTER".

Want to scare the dealer? Get a water sample, and do it on video. Send the sample for a full analysis and report back to them.

IN ALL FAIRNESS...if that was in New Jersey that is certainly feasible...:o:p:D

Still not sure why we are called the Garden State? State of denial?
