Ever had a cq dlux coated item do this???

A friend used castrol super clean on his wheels and hurt the coating pretty bad...

More elbow grease than one man can buy us needed to fix it...

How long after the DLUX was applied did your friend use the cleaning product?

Sorry to hear of this gta88ws6. The problem is highlighted below (#5 from the product page). Castrol super clean is HIGHLY alkaline (pH Value = 13.O). It's very corrosive, I would be very cautious using it for anything detail related! Here is the MSDS for reference...https://www.hsolc.org/sites/default...ic/english/castrol-super-clean-tough-task.pdf

Once again I'm sorry to hear of this, however the good news is, if only the coating has been damaged and not the wheels underneath the coating; you will be able to machine polish it off and clean it up. It's just going to take some time and effort...

Precautions:

1. Allow to cure 1-3 hours without water being introduced to surface. If wet during first 24 hours wipe off water before it dries on surface as a precaution.
2. After 3 days you are free to wash with all your regular car washes.
3. Avoid contact with skin and eyes
4. Wear gloves
5. Never allow highly alkaline (ph11+) chemicals to sit or dwell on the surface for extended periods.
6. Do not use for other purposes
7. Keep out of reach of children
8. Keep away from heat
9. Do not ingest

Another product to stay away from using on BARE aluminum is Meg's Wheel Brightener. Even at a 12:1 dilution ratio, it stained the uncoated lips from my wheels.

Will put DLUX to this horrid face off soon, just for scientific reasons :p
