Hi,

This is my first post in this Forum. I live in Argentina and I'm a big fan of car detailing. I apologize in advance for my English...
We don't have so many products here as you have there, so I always have to do lot of research in order to get from someone who travels some products.

A few days ago I created a post on AG because I need some advice regarding to a treatment for a new car.
I have a Brand new Black Ford Focus Sedan. I've always keep my cards sealed and waxed, but as this one is a black car, I'd wanted to add more protection. I immediately thought of Cquartz. I had doubts were I should use Original or UK version and everyone told me to ask Corey.
He very kindly answer all my emails and helped me to decide that according to my weather, Cquartz was the better choice for me.

I have some more doubts and I don't want to bother only to him jajaja so maybe I can get some help from all others who has lots of knowledge. I've also post some things on AG asking for help!

As I said, my car is new but dealer (even he is a good one) put some swirls on my car... They are light swirls, but they are there, so I think I need to polish first.

I don't have very much experience polishing. I've only done my Ford Fiesta with acceptable results to me.

I've a Griot Garage 6 polisher with Orange, white and black flat 5' and 3' pads.

The plan for my car is:

a) Wash with CG citrus
b) Iron X (I really don't know if is necessary)
c) Inspect where claying is needed. If so, I've nanoskin towel and Mothers claying kit
d) Wash again with Citrus.
e) Polish. Here I've some doubts. I've Menzerna Sf4500, Menz SIP 1500, M205, Wolfgang Uber, M105, Carpro Fixer and ultimate compound (on each travel I ask someone to bring me something jajaja). I know I need to do a test spot, but what should be the best combo? Black pad + Sf4500? or do I need more cut? Maybe Black pad + M205 or should I use 2 stages with white pad and Black pad after?
Someone is getting some Cquartz for me, should I buy and try Reflect?

f) Wipe with Eraser
g) Cquartz

h) For wheels, I think I'll be buying Dlux.

Is this OK?

I'd really appreciate any help you may give.

Regards!
Martin

Black is not a color it's a career.

To answer a few of your questions...

M105 is a bit aggressive to start with. I'd clay the entire vehicle with the Nanoskin towel.
Is the Nanoskin towel a FINE grade? Do you have a clay lube for the Nanoskin Autoscrub towel?
I like to Wash, then use Iron-X on the paint followed by a thorough rinse then the clay process.

For polishing paint I'm a big fan of the "Always use the least aggressive method first!" method.
I'd suggest Meguiars Ultimate Compound and a Lake Country 5" white pad to see it that removes the swirls.
I'm also a big fan of Carpro Reflect polish for finishing. I might suggest CP Reflect with a 5" LC Black pad.
You could use the M205 you already have if needed. Be sure and use Eraser to clean off all the polishing oils.
The cleaning with Eraser is an important step to insure the paint is "clean" before you apply Carpro CQuartz.

If you have enough CQuartz left after coating the paint...I like using CQuartz on the wheels also.

Thanks Merlin!
Do you think M205 will fionish as well as reflect? If so, I should buy some reflect.
I'll be saving some money by applying cquartz classic on rules instead of Dlux jajaja

I've nanoskin med grade. I'll be using ONR as clay lube. I also have Ultima WW.

I'd start with the least aggressive pads and polishes.

M205 does a very good job of finishing. Do I think Reflect does a better job of finishing? YES
IMHO Reflect has better clarity and sharpness. FYI - M205 is S.M.A.T. and Reflect is D.A.T.

If so, I should buy some reflect. IMHO Yes, It is my #1 go-to finishing polish
