Hello, long time reader first time writer.

I'm a rookie when it comes to car detailing. This question is about the flyby I put on my windshield. I dont seem to be getting the water beading that i was hoping for, i installed it back in april so my question is what do i need to do if i would like to put another coat on to help give better water beading?

I tried the reload on it but it didnt seem to work and got lots of streaking and smear used eraser to get it off.

Dear Kyle

I'm still working my way up to Rookie Detailer status, but I believe the secret is in the prep. Before applying Forte did you machine-polish your windshield with Ceriglass and wipe it down twice with Eraser?

I applied Forte about two months ago and can't make any conclusions about the product or my application of it because I haven't driven in the rain yet. Every time it rains, I take my wife's car.

Hi Kyle, welcome!

I would suggest at this point there is road grime and a variety of things on the coat. I would polish the glass with Fixer or any paint compound that does not contain durable fillers, wipe thoroughly with Eraser, and recoat to see if this solves it.

For the Reload, did you use following method and tips?

Reload Tips:

#1. use on clean surface wax free oil free surface

#2. Use in great ambient lighting (Daylight but not direct sun)

#3. Only work with one panel at a time until it looks great from all angles.

You apply as follows -

Shake well
Spray a 4-5 sprays directly onto a microfiber towel and spread out left and right and then up and down over a 2 to 2.5 sq ft area

Work it into the paint evenly until almost but not completely gone.

Switch to a fresh clean towel for final buff and remove completely whats left

Should be zero dark streaks at this point but COULD be some oily holograms in certain direct lighting.

If you have any oily holograms a water damp mf after each panel should easily remove that.

NOTE: Apply to one small panel and check in various lighting to be sure you understand proper application and that you are producing the results you want before applying to the remainder of the car.

which product would u recommend for the glass if one does not have a machine to use to polish the windshield?

Hi Kyle, If I couldn't machine polish I would personally go with Hydro2 or I would hand polish it with some Fixer and then Eraser and Flyby30 if you want glass dedicated product.
