Ford F150 - Polish, CQuartz Classic/UK Combo

Not too long ago, I was contacted by an individual with the below seen Ford F150.
The complaint at the time was that they were unhappy with previous detailing work performed by a 3rd-party location -- which left unpleasant damage and swirls
throughout the paintwork.

The vehicle was often washed at automatic washes, with the dreaded 'foam brush', and even sponges. The owner was well aware of the damages that can be caused
when using such methods, and wanted the vehicle back in a factory fresh condition, so that he could properly maintain it for years to come.

Tools & Equipment
  • Rupes MKll 15
  • Bigfoot iBrid Nano
  • Menzerna FG400
  • Sonax 04/06
  • CarPro Essence
  • CarPro Eraser
  • CQuartz
  • CQuartz UK
  • Solution Finish
  • Meguiars MF Cutting Pads, B&S Euro Yellow, Orange, CarPro Gloss Pads
  • Misc towels & tools for applications, removals, etc

Here are some images of the vehicle before any restorative work had been performed:

After a thorough wash and decontamination, the polishing began. Note that these are 'process shots', and don't reflect the end result of the multi-stage polish.

A few other things to polish, restore...

Once all polishing was completed and the paint brought back to a rich, deep state, all paintwork was coated with CQuartz UK (2 coats) followed by CQuartz Classic.

End result is that the truck looks great, and will continue to look that way for a long time to come!

Awesome work Tyler, you made that Blue pop big! I hope the owner was floored, I am...

Great work!

Those F150 tail gates suck with all the 'groves'... lol!

Love the 50/50 on the bug deflector... customers always get a kick out of how those clean up after a good polishing.

Great job!

Great job. Quick question, why would you do Classic over UK? Is there a benefit to that or just a preference?

I know this is an old post but I was also interested in this coating combination. After exchanging messages with Corey this is what I gathered. UK cures harder and faster to supply the strongest base and classic provides a more stain resistant top coat. Hope this helps.

Thanks for replying to this! Somehow I had completely missed it.
