Hi all,

Working with a builder and was hoping you could share pics of your garage floors. Also, any thing in your garage that helps in correction and detailing.

Thanks!

To me the shop floor is important.

The ability to have A/C and heating is important. The doors are insulated and track sides sealed.

After polishing...I lightly pressure wash the floor and it's a dust free "clean room".

NOTE: Only plastic drinking glasses are allowed in the detailing studio.

Very nice. I love have a coated garage floor. I did it in my last garage and will be doing it to my current garage soon.

Have you done anything special with the overhead lighting? I have the standard, 2 fluorescent lights in the center. I have considered doing something around the outside edges if the ceiling.

I've heard really good things about Big Ass Light. I'm think about getting two.

One of the best things I ever did was to add 2 4'x6' windows. It's a great addition to have "natural" light.

They allow the perfect ambient light through for seeing high spots when installing coatings.

Another thing I enjoy is the addition of climate control. Heated in the winter, and air conditioned in the summer.

As for flooring I went with Garage Tech this time. I had epoxy last time and while it's nice, I like the Garage Tech better. For me, less fatigue when working on it all day. Clean up is unbelievably easy. I run the shop vac over it and an O'cedar type mop loaded with Ultima Waterless Wash occasionally. It's chaneled underneath to allow water flow, so I can pressure wash it off if I want to as well.

As we all know lightning is crucial. I went with a combination of fluorescent and LED both on the walls and the ceiling. I also chose the "brightest" white paint I could find:cool:

A small work bench is also a nice addition.

Typically I do the dirty work (wash, decon, etc.) in the shop.

Then move the vehicle into my garage for refinement. ^^Unless (like in this case) it's to large to fit, then everything gets done here...
