Getting rid of the lovely Iron X scent?

So I did the winter prep on my car today, I ended up using Sonax FE on the wheels, D101 to clean the tires, foamed with CG a Citrus wash red, then 2bw with the same, nanoskin mitt on the paint and windshield, dried with my sidekick, sprayed Iron X, the. For the first time I used the sponge I bought from Corey to spread the Iron X, rinsed, dried with MF drying towel, then applied Sonax PNS.

The problem comes from the sponge how do I get he dang Iron X stank off of it. I rinsed it thoroughly right after. Then when I got home I used dawn and warm water no luck. Any advice?
 
Just use it as the dedicated iron x sponge or throw it out and get a new one. just my 2 cents. Very hard to get the smell out.
 
That is all I am going to use it for but it is reaking up my basement lol!! I guess I will have to relinquish it to the garage or something.
