Glass polishing question

I used a flex rotary, car pro glass cerium polish and the glass pad, all from carpro. Is there anything that cuts fasting or more aggressive? I even thought about adding more cerium oxide to the carpro glass polish hoping it would cut faster? Any ideas?

The flex rotary was an animal on glass, compared to the rupes 21. I literally had as much weight as I could on the rotary and couldn't get it to bog down. The flex impressed me, considering I bleed rupes practically.

Well, for starters, you really dont need to use much Ceriglass AT ALL!

Grab a little sprayer and mist the Ceriglass when the produucts starts to dry up. You will work for a long time before you need to apply more Ceriglass to the pad.

* You dont need to apply much pressure on your rotary.
* Work with slow arm movements and overlaping your work area. I recommend it to work on a 12X12 area or smaller.
* Remember to clean your pad often.

Hope it helps!

You need lots of patience to polish glass not my strong suit.

I'll try to upload a video of a 50 50 windshield experiment. Half with rupees 21, half with flex rotary.

^^This is great advice/info!! Also beware of and check for heat often (it's easy to generate when polishing glass), especially when using a rotary or 3401 type tool.

I just got my 1st DA (Boss G15) And I ordered 2 bottles of Ceriglass on a site that had a 40% of sale. I should get some of the glass pad's here and see what I can do. What's a good number to order? I have a Grit Guard Pad Washer and a bottle of Pad Cleaner, but I'm not sure how often pads should be swapped compared to a Foam or MF.

Two should be sufficient, just remember to cool them down as necessary and clean them often ...
I wouldn't expect a lot of correction with a DA, glass is hard enough to correct with a rotary. However, if you're only after water spots, hazing, and minor imperfections, then it should work great for you!

Quebert, I also plan on adding some additional cerium oxide to see if I can get additional cut at a faster pace. I personally found the best results, for me anyways based on the windshield I was doing, came out better when I leaned into the rotary. I had a solid 30 lbs maybe more of downward pressure. The rupes, cuts out, while the flex just keeps mowing lawn.

Yeah, I took a few classes @ Meguiar's HQ, I was talking with Micheal Stoops and he told me basically it'll be messy and probably not worth my effort for the amount of results I'll get with a DA

Give your DA a chance ... you might be surprised!

Finished down to near perfection, with Porter Cable's 7424XP DA

What speed you going at?

Speed was 5 and 6, with little to mid pressure on the PC.

I see a Rupes in your signature. Just tried my 21 with Ceriglass on my dad´s car. Night and day difference!

Altough the weight is increased vs the PC, the Rupes just glides over the glass, obliterating defects like there is no tomorrow. Give it a try!

The Rupes for me was good. The Flex was out of this world in my testing. The flex was shredding the glass defects like no other. However I wanted it to be faster, so I was thinking about using more sandpaper (cerium oxide).

We are using ceriglass but I want to spice it up with cerium oxide.

Yes I do know, I just am going to experiment with way more cerium in it. I can't ruin my windshield more than it already is. Lol.
